Please refer to this document for the following:
The Shipmate produced "Your Love is Amazing" parody yielded a staggering 45 verses ! (counting the extra "Hallelujah" option.)
Here is what we need you to do:
1. Select (up to) 7 of your favorite stanzas from the list above.
2. List them in your reply to this OP, along with the stanza number, the first line (to avoid confusion)
3. If you wish, a sentence or two explaining why you chose your choice.
Suggested format:
6. Your love fits the scansion
It is self referencing in a subtle way, and makes the stanzas that don't scan properly that much funnier since we pointed it out.
Go to it! More to follow...

23 Your love is so awesome,
For much the same reason: it references the writing process and the Ship.

I'll nominate 41 Your love is maturing just because comparing God's love to manure, but doing it well enough that it almost works, that's pretty amusing.

Yes, I forgot to say-- it will probably be easier to make your selections if you primt out the list.
And let me encourage you to pick more than one! We are aiming at ten stanzas, so casting a wider net will help us determine which are the most popular. I wiil come up with my own list later today. ( and remember, explaining your vote is optional,.)

Maybe this is a separate vote, but I am assuming everyone is OK with the extra Hallelujah verse. I myself can't complete the earworm without hearing it.

42. Your love’s automatic

My votes (in no particular order) are:
- 06. Your love fits the scansion...
- 11. Your love is contagious...
- 17. Your love is my passion...
- 22. Your love is forever...
- 40. Your love is what ails me...
- 44. Your love's in three persons...
Those were the ones that most made me chuckle and think - oo, that's clever.
I've not experienced the original song that has inspired this creative endeavour, although I suppose if the Ship decided to get a bunch of Ship musicians and singers together to form a one-time-only worship-band pub-meet to record the final selected stanzas, and maybe a full-length interminable 'uncut' version too for a B-side (oh yes, I would come and play for that ) I might have to research the original, just to appreciate the parody better. Otherwise it sounds like I've not missed anything!

3. Your love makes my belly
6. your love fits the scansion
18. your love is juicy as a mango
23 your love is so awesome
36 your love is so squidgy
41 your love is maturing
46 was that goodbye I ask
Posted by Eutychus (# 3081) on

I suppose I'd better contribute to this quick...
5. Your love is fantastic (actually means something, scansion suitably terrible)
10. Hallelujah (because we need one oddball chorus)
11. Your love is contagious (because somebody liked "myyrh" and "burr" in the video)
12. Your love is a looking glass (donkey and long quay counts as the worst rhyme, visual imagery is arresting)
27. Your love is exacting (fun rhymes)
33. Your love is delicious (because it has a "thou" in it)
44. Your love's like this Ship thread (another awful piece of scansion)
Luvanddaisies, the original song was linked to at the start of the original thread; here it is again for your earworming pleasure
#Hallelujah, hallelujah...#

I vote:
No6: Your love fits the scansion (because it's clever, also features whisky & frisky)
No12: Your love is a looking glass (for the ass-cheeks bit)
No15: Your love is life-giving (for the New Malden ref)
No16: Your love is omnipresent (for randomness)
No38: Your love is fantastic (for Maastricht)
No40: Your love is what ails me (for fish & chips)
No46: Was that goodbye I ask? (It rounds things up nicely)
Also: a huge thanks to Eutychus for starting all this. It's made me cry with laughter, and is definitely the best thing to happen to that song. Thank you.

Here it is, Gang!
For those brave souls who wish to accept the challenge, a printable version of "Your Love is..." is available in the above link, from which you can practice for any Shipmeet singalong that might spontaneously arise.
(I suggest you work off of Euty's Youtube clip to center yourselves on the same key.)
