This is a simple game, playable in seconds but also liable to send players down epic you-tube worm-holes in search of that half-remembered lyric. Or maybe that's just me...
All you need to do is post a song that is related in some way to the song immediately before it. It could be something straightforward like the same artist, or a word in the title. It could be something unusual, like a feature in the video or an evoked memory of a cherished time. If you think people might miss your association, just mention it in the post.
And so without further ado, here is the first song, one which evokes a cherished memory of my own:

Yeah. At least Kingsley Amis' exercise in celestial lese-majeste had enough theological background to acknowledge the Incarnation, while saying that it was not as big a deal as traditionally thought. Joan Osborne sings as if no one had ever thought of the idea of God becoming "one of us".
And the really sad thing is there probably are Christians out there who thought the song was blasphemous for suggesting God could ever be a person on Earth.

[B]AND DID THOSE FEET, IN ANCIENT TIMES, WALK UPON ENGLAND'S MOUNTAINS GREEN?[/B
Words by William Blake, Music by Hubert Parry[I think],and beloved by many. It's the trumpets at the end that always get me..

The trumpets we aren't hearing, because you didn't link to the song (like everyone else does).

William Walsham Howe 1823-1897 Tune : Sine Nomine

Commonly known to organists who play it as "Pom For All The Saints" (because there's a big POM! before the congregation come in).
So from a Pom song to an Aussie one...
Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree
Posted by Pigwidgeon (# 10192) on

Not a gum tree, probably, but Shadows and Tall Trees (U2).
Posted by aliehs (# 18878) on
:
and speaking of tall trees, and the mighty gum, did you know there was an Aussie Group called Red Gum? as for me:
"Give me a home amongst the gum trees
with lots of plum trees [ 2+ lines] ....and an old rocking chair."
Used as the theme for a long running Gardening Program called Burke's Backyard. Said eponymous Burke is now under scrutiny for nastiness.
But the song lives on.
Oh by the way, I am now right side up!

'Give me a home among the gum trees' would be followed by (if successful) a Move.

Does anyone out there know the words to what I call the Geometry song, which I used to sing but can now only remember fragments. Each verse refers to a geometrical figure:- a circle, a square, a rectangle and finishes with a triangle. In that order The last verse[ the triangle] goes something like this:
couple of lines, then :
Triangular the relationship, that now has ceased to be:
Triangular the garment thin, which fastens with a safety pin,
The prize I had no wish to win , a lasing memory,
My true love gave to me
