Well and truly, lol! This was troubling me as well. A portmanteau is a neologism, but a neologism isn't necessarily a portmanteau.
Another amusing thing, to me anyway, about the title is that I invented the word neologasm. Unfortunately, someone else did prior to my stroke of genius.
