It's still late-afternoon on Christmas Eve here, but I'm going to be rather busy later, so merry Christmas, one and all!

Merry Christmas to all on a cool , grey day. All is quiet here, no children out on new bikes, and scarcely a car on the main road.

Merry Christmas all! I just returned from a lovely Christmas Eve service where I was surprised by the presence of a long-time friend who couldn't get to her church's service in time.

In addition to the third carol service of the season, last minute shopping and wrapping presents our Christmas Eve also featured unblocking a singularly outflow and drain and erecting a safety gate to protect little'uns. What is it with these gates? Unless the bearing surfaces are flat and true it's a b*****s muddle getting them to fit let alone operate.
Oh yes, Jolly Robins to one and all.

Merry Christmas! And a good whatever anyone else may be celebrating. And a good, untroubled time for anyone who does not celebrate holidays at this time.

Merry Christmas to all! I'm missing the Late Show at my parish, due to being lurgy, and I'm going to bed in a few minutes after dipping into the Nyquil. I wish you all a blessed Feast.

Just back from the vigil service, which started at 10:00pm instead of midnight, out of a sense of mercy for the priest (it was his fifth service today and he has to be up and back at it again for a few more tomorrow).
Wishing all a very merry and glorious Christmas. I need to hurry and get nestled all snug in my bed, so that Santa can come while visions of sugar plums dance in my head. And it takes Rather A Lot of bourbon to make me hallucinate dancing sugar plums...

Merry Christmas everyone. I managed to get out of bed, dressed and down the road to Mass in 20 minutes. It was packed which surprised me for a 9.00 service.

The only Christmas sermon you'll ever need:
The child we seek doesn't need our gold. On love, on love alone, He will build his Kingdom. His pierced hand will hold no scepter. His hallowed head will wear no crown. His might will not be built on your toil. Swifter than lightning, He will soon walk among us. He will bring us new life, and receive our death. And the keys to His Kingdom belong to the poor.
(Amahl and the Night Visitors)
Happy Christmas, shipmates. Joan
