The discussion "UK General Election June 8th 2017" now seems to be focused on Tim Farron, in particular with reference to his views on gay sex. Might this more apt for a discussion in Dead Horses?

Yes it might if people want to keep discussing it beyond a few posts, but it's a tangent to the main thread, so the best thing to do would be to be start a new thread in DH quoting any posts you want to discuss. You don't need a host to do that you can do that yourself.

Have managed to start one myself despite only having phone with me.
