According to the Beeb, a couple have just got hitched in London at a Star Trek convention. Not particularly newsworthy until one finds that ceremony was "thought to be the UK's first Klingon wedding."

I suppose it's all right in the Excel Centre, surrounded by like minded enthusiasts; but a church ceremony? Will Klingon catch on as "Mass in the vernacular....?" Discuss.

I'd trade my ring for a reliable communications protocol any day. I've heard Star Trek criticised for its utopianism, and now I can see why...

And there I was thinking it would be a Betazed wedding. [Two face]

If it was to follow true Star Trek fashion, it should have been a Betamax(TM) wedding.

Following on from this thread, would guests be happy to leave bat'leths outside the church?

For those unfamiliar with the Novus Ordo (Latin for "New Order"), it is the vernacular form of the Roman Catholic Mass introduced after Vatican II.

OTOH, if you don't know what Klingon is, I can't help you.

I would like an invitation, comet!

Which, being translated, is the polite form of Klingon greeting: 'What do you want?'
