Are any of you men growing a moustache for Movember? The idea is to not shave your upper lip and raise awareness of prostate cancer. It's quite a Big Thing here. I ended up with a beard last year, though doing the soup strainer only this I think.

I'm normally bearded, but joined in last year by shaving out the chin. I was hoping I'd look like Lemmy but ended up looking like a cross between a stereotypical child molester and Kim Newman.
As a result, this year the beard stays, and I'll just support any friends who go for it!

I don't, but coming from a family with a long history of prostate cancer (my father is a survivor, although I don't think I have ever heard him call himself that), I appreciate the awareness campaign. It's me you might be saving down the line.

This is my second Movember year. See if my moustache s greyer than last year.

Last year, I shaved the beard off, and then grew a 70s porn 'tache.
This year, the whole head's been shaved. Not yet decided on the mo-style yet, though...
Donations are most welcome!

I really believe in this cause but don't personally participate.
I do currently have full beard but I cannot do Movember because if I have just the tash I look, not only very much like Freddy Mercury but more camp that Freddy. Yes it is possible!
SO, All my friends who it know I am very very happy to sponsor others generously...

I will dedicate all of Novembers tache growth to the cause.
I am fully hirsute. Well, I say fully - the top is rather thinner than it used to be.

Similar here. The only time I ever attempted a moustache, it made me look like a young, gay Charles Bronson (the actor, not the criminal). And that, you don't want to see.

I fear it won't suit Mr D but he's going for it! We shall see.

Won't personally participate in the 'tache growing but happy to donate - I already have problems in that dept and am only in my early 40s.

I realise noone is participating in Mvember for personal gain but, FYI, Debenhams are giving a free cuppa for the newly hirsute in support.

Last year's effort. Sort of 5/10. Funnily enough the hair is greyer than the mo.

Is this a case of "if you let us see the photo you have to kill us?"

I don't like moustache-only and will not do it to Mr V, but I am giving financial support to local growers.
Last year some of us had issue with one of the causes to which the funds were going because of outspoken comments by its head, but he has relented. Last year I did a bulk donation directly to the other cause but this year will be giving direct support.

I'm used to this being Noshember (No Shave November) and the cause being homelessness; you donate the money you would have spent on razors and such to the nearest homeless shelter.
Sadly, since my last nasty bike wreck, I've been growing a Frank Zappa mustache/goatee (I've heard that it actually did look better when I ran mascara through it for Halloween), so nobody notices that I'm doing others a favor. Also, I think I'm a bit on the young side to be worrying about prostate health, aside from really pathetic pickup lines that even I realize won't work; thus, nobody would really take me seriously. Thus, I keep the mustache, but don't even bother telling the parents it's for a cause.

That may be so, although you'd be surprised at the age spread - what is certain is that you are in the prime zone for testicular cancer and should be checking yourself regularly for abnormalities.

My face seems to think I'm participating despite being female...

Muahhahaha ... actually it's bloody ugly, but I'll rectify it.

Zappa, you're rather like your avatar! And the photo is NOT ugly!
Well done, everyone, for your efforts. My Dad died in 2000 from prostate cancer, and while the profile of the disease is being raised, it still needs a lot of promotion, for men to really be aware of it and know it's okay to act early.
