In response to the story that an intruder broke into the Tower of London and stole a set of keys, which keys do you think would be worth stealing?

Currently, with my photography obsession, I'd like access to nice high buildings with good viewpoints.

There's only one. The key to the Tardis.

I just heard that story on Radio 4! I should like to get my hands on the keys to the Crown Jewels, having seen them twice, though I am given to understand they were not on the same key-ring...

The keys to the next nasa space rocket, has to be a fantastic view from up there. And I'd weigh less for a while.

Maybe the treasury where they supposedly keep the Ark of the Covenant in Ethiopia. Although it would be terribly disappointing to learn that the Ark wasn't really there.

Or maybe the keys to the locker room of your least favorite football team, so as to be able to place itching power in their shorts the night before the game against your team.

I keep thinking of big buildings that would be cool to tour at night on your own, but I keep coming back to the thought that being inside, say, the Smithsonian after dark on your own would be really creepy.

I still have the key to the house I grew up in (no longer occupied by my parents) and sometimes when I am in the vicinity, I think about letting myself in and seeing if anyone has changed much in the place.

The Florida Keys?

I think the top floor of the Shard would be something to have keys to. But I might go for Buckingham Palace, although keys are fairly irrelevant with armed guards being the real "keys".

For stealing, however, I would like the key to wind up Big Ben, or something of that nature. That would be a cool thing to have, even though you could never use it.

I have a box full of keys that are no longer identifiable as belonging to any object that still exists, so, presumably, I need access to either a time machine or some sort of ghost space.

The only problem with finding some of these suitcases and drawers is that I might also get all mt toenail clippings back, since presumably everything material goes to roughly the same sort of ethereal space.

ETA that anyone is welcome to steal said box of keys.

When I am singing in church, pretty much everybody around me wishes that I would somehow get hold of the right key. And, you know, keep it.

The key to Pandora's box. Before she opened it.

JJ, how was it that I knew almost exactly what I would see before clicking on that link?

Much as I'd like the Florida Keys, or the keys to the belltower of the Basilica, I think I'd take the keys to the Freer/Sackler Museum and Museum of the American Indian, including the storage areas. So much delicious pottery . . .

The keys to the British Library. Think of all those wonderful books to ste- I mean, read.

What's so holy about wanting to steal St Peter's keys? If you have them you can get into heaven whether or not your name is in the Book of Life...

Doesn't that belong on the "Porn," thread? I know it made me moan a little bit.

Since I've narrowly been beaten to the British library, I'll take the Library of Congress keys. I once took all sorts of confusing Washington DC metro system transports just to get there and find out I couldn't go in. Had to be a congressperson or something.

Make sure they're attached to the hydrospanner. And that your arm muscles are in tip-top shape.

Ariston, piglet and Twilight, am I so transparent? [Two face]

I would really like the keys to understanding this infuriating new smartphone. Why didn't I go for some thing cheaper and more basic...? Vanity!
