After sterling service in Hell, Heaven and All Saints, PeteC is taking a break from hosting for a few months. The Crew are grateful for all Pete's hard work and hope that he enjoys a well earned rest.

Please use this thread to wish Pete all the best, express thanks etc.

PeteC is being let out of Hell free?

Uncle Pete, does this mean you're going to stop being a curmudgeonly old grumpmeister? How will we recognise you? Seriously, thanks for all your input shipwards (and friendshipwards) so far and all the best for your impending travels. You're in the new diary!

Thank you so much for all your hosting, Uncle Pete.

Have a good rest.

No-one told me I was ever a host of Heaven! [Paranoid]

Oh, all those wasted opportunities!

I did put in a stint in Eccles though.

sotto voce I preferred Hell.

Really? We'd never have guessed. [Biased]

Enjoy your well-earned break. Pity you haven't got a gong as well, then you could bang it when you want your dinner.

Just because PeteC no longer has to clean the tank does not mean that he won't take bites out of slow-swimming Denizens.

Enjoy your break your Majesty - and take care to avoid Bosworth Field!

Or the Stanleys?

Your hand on assorted helms will be missed, PeteC -- but enjoy some time off. You deserve it.

Enjoy the break Pete.

Thanks for all you do, Uncle Pete!
(((Pete)))

ps...as a gift to you, let it be known that the Crazy Cactus is no more. Just disappeared. Probably to reappear in a pot near you.

Oh dearie me - does this mean you'll be heading this way soon?

Thanks Pete for all you've done for the Ship.

He's probably waiting to see if one will grow legs and evolve...

Thank you Pete. As always, prayers from a reprobate.

I'm not leaving the Ship - and especially not the Crew's Quiz - just not hosting. For now.

Thanks for all your hard work Pete. To be soppy for a minute - you once posted a quick comment on something I'd written in AS which was so kind and thoughtful I shall remember it for a very long time. There, soppiness over.

Hope you have a good break.

I'm pretty sure that PeteC won the "Host of the Year" in the St Simmies a couple of years ago and amazingly, I nominated him! That was on the basis of his hosting in All Saints, Hell and (I think) Purgatory too.

He's done a fine job throughout and has helped me no end as a rookie Hellhost. Enjoy your break.

Enjoy the globe-trotting Pete. Now you can come on the Ship to play, and ignore any posts that don't interest you.

All the best, Pete. Time for a few well earned ales.

I've always enjoyed Pete's hosting in Hell, and I'll miss it.

I hope you stick around, Pete--don't be like so many others who say they will continue to contribute, then go off to lie on a remote beach sipping cocktails with paper umbrellas in them, posting rarely and then only to rub it in...

Posted by Firenze (# 619) on :

Yeah, the paper umbrellas really add insult to injury.

However, I believe his travels bring him to Scotland at some point, so there'll be nae lazing on beaches then.

Posted by amber. (# 11142) on :

Enjoy that rest [Smile]

Posted by mdijon (# 8520) on :

A very well earned rest, although it sounds like Firenze has other plans.

And nice to see you again Amber.

I see that you have identified the situation clearly. If we areto hear from Pete, henceforth it will only be because one of the staff has learned to keyboard his responses for us. However, as a fellow superannuated public servant, I quite understand the importance of drinks with paper umbrellas-- a just reward for dedicated service to Our Glorious Sovereign.

To paraphrase a well-known sermon:
Aye, well, there'll be nae wee drinks wi' fancy paper umbrellas in Hell!

See you around the place, Pete. Thanks for your streling work and enjoy the break- I do not see you staying away from guiding us for too long!

Are you a professional streler? If so, I'd be happy to pay you to do some streling on my house.
