There is a rabid Christian fundie, whom I met on a UK Christian forum, from which he was banned! He tells non-believers that they KNOW God exists but are in denial!
The guy now posts on Twitter and is posting more of the same! He is rabid about Richard Dawkins and all he stands for, which is really amusing. I don't know whether the forum rules permit me to mention his Twitter username, so I had better not.

I'm not sure anyone here would care much. Fundamentalist twitterers are readily available; supply outstrips demand by several orders of magnitude so they really have no market value.
Look, I'll take a dozen off your hands for free, and believe me, guv, that's generous. I like teasing them.

You do understand the concept of "self control" don't you?
You don't HAVE to write down everything that come in your head. I will not mind.

Pyx I see you are from Chesterfield. We started our married life there nearly 44 years ago, we moved after 2 years thank goodness! Still I suppose someone has to live there!

Me too, though just under 40 years ago, and we're divorced now. Not Chesterfield's fault - though God knows it wasn't exacly a good start.

It's me who's from Chesterfield. I dread to imagine where Pyx is from, but I don't think it's coming to a Thompson's catalogue any time soon.

My humble apologies Karl, I must be more senile than I thought! Our eldest girl was born in Chesterfield, she is now a vicar. It could be something to do with her father being shown the bell tower of the church with the crooked spire, whilst I was in labour! Fortunately our girl is one of the many decent Christians out there, and wouldn't dream of forcing her faith down our throats.

Oooh no! We Christians are the ones in denial, apparently.
So a bunch of rabid fundamentalists tell us! [ 30. January 2013, 16:07: Message edited by: EtymologicalEvangelical ]

People come from much worse places than Chesterfield, even if it does have a twisted spire.
You can also choose who you follow on Twitter, if you don't like rabid fundamentalists (or people from Chesterfield). And you can also spread your own sweetness and light, gerbilfodder, if you find other Twitter fodder too hellish for your tastes.

So now you are saying Chesterfield is a joke are you?
Yes there are those who use the internet for preaching their bile, rather than learning truth from others.
Dealing with wankers and idiots is something that we all have to deal with in this multi-faceted world we live in. Just ask anyone I work with.

Personally, I'm more concerned about the large number of people who are clearly in denial about the fact that I'm right about everything.

Welcome gerbilfodder, even though beginning your Ship career in Hell isn't always wise. You're quite right in that assuming that you had better not mention any Twitter usernames here. The Ship of Fools is a place of (mostly Christian) unrest, but we take a very dim view of anything imported from other sites and boards that could cause friction between The Ship and the rest of cyberspace.
Happy sailing, for now at any rate.

It depends on how long you want your career to be, I suppose. It it pretty good if you only want to be around for a few days.

Excellent bits of advice offered above, gerbilfodder. Might I add one more bit? Restrict the use of exclamation marks to, you know, actual exclamations.

CRACKS HOSTLY WHIP
this thread is pointless and chatty. I hate chatty. it's also based on being annoyed by some cretin from off-site; we only like to tan the hides of either our own cretins or public cretins. so it's doubly dumb.
and I'm bitchy and totally out of coffee and you all suck.
Gerbil fodder - try one thread at a time. and have a point for your opening post. and don't be so fucking perky.
