I thought I knew roughly what this thread was going to be about, and then I read the OP, and now I have no idea.

I've no idea about the OP either, but regarding describing God succinctly, I'm told that he is bigger than a submarine.

I think the OP is a great description of God - with a grave face but twitching lips.

I must admit that, rather than read the Bible these days, I follow God (@TheTweetOfGod) on Twitter. Whoever helps him write his account makes me smile as he 'gets' God rather well....

If we build a taller skyscraper, do you think god will get bigger?

I've also heard it suggested that we make god in our own image, so I imagine he must be incredibly good-looking.

Given that Jesus said 'I am', that sounds like the beginning of a Grammar lesson. Or the index of a set of worship songs:

I am the bread of life.
You are worthy.
He is Lord.

Me! Me! Me! I know this one!

4. God is a Spirit, infinite, eternal and unchangeable, in His being, wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness, and truth.

I don't often get a chance to use the Shorter Catechism. I don't suppose you'd like to know what Man's Chief End is?

I'd like to think God was as Bruce Cockburn describes in "All the Diamonds".

"Like a pearl in sea of liquid jade
His ship comes shining
Like a crystal swan in a sky of suns
His ship comes shining."

But I would say two things, depending on my mood:

1.
God contains the most of everything;
joy and sadness, hurt and happiness, surprise and sorrow.

2.
God is both the killer and the killed, death and life.
