Have you seen the way that Father's taken to holding his hands at the dismissal? Hands open, Father? I don't think so!

Our Sunday Mass is celebrated versum populo (sp?). So why in the name of all the blessed saints and martyrs does Father insist on having an 18-inch-high crucifix stuck on the altar? It looks clumsy, the corpus faces us rather than him, and it obscures his actions during the Eucharistic ****er.
I'll tell you why - it's simply because the (soon-to-be-former) **** has one on his altar......
We keep trying to lose/hide/drop/break the thing, but Father keeps putting it back..........

Wrong vestment colors on Sunday last! If the Altar Guild wasn't all volunteer, I'd fire the lot!

That is a perpetual problem on these one-time Sundays. The color problem I've pretty much taken care of at my place. The proper prefaces are another story, although I'll admit strategically paperclipping pages together in the altar book does seem to help a bit.

Father is doing the dismissal? That's a diaconal job, surely? We put lay people in albs and appareled amices just so they can do that.
What other things are going on in your church that make the mass invalid? I shudder to think.

Use plaid. Color problem solved, no changes needed.

Perhaps Father should revert to celebrating Ad Orientem. It's much less distracting for the congregation.
