Boston.com says cell service has been shut down in Boston in order to prevent anyone from setting off a bomb remotely using their cell phone.

For those in Boston, victims of this bombing.
Also for those in Iraq also affected by multiple bombings today.See BBC report here There are those there also who are grieving loved ones and citizens in the grip of fear.
Lord have mercy on all finding themselves in such situations.

Yes, I live in the Boston area, and I'm feeling a little sick right now. But, I remember that people who live in places like Kabul; Baghdad; Syria... live with this sort of thing almost every single day.
So I'm feeling - how lucky we are that such an experience is so rare in our particular locale. Doesn't make it any less awful that it has happened - but it does keep our own suffering in context. /Joan from Boston

My nephew is OK, though stashed with about a dozen other strangers in still another stranger's apartment; they have no way to get to anywhere they need to go.

We've seen in a number of emergencies (Hurricane Katrina etc) that texting gets through but voice doesn't. Something about overload when too many are trying to send voice, txt uses far fewer resources. That's even without authorities deciding to block voice.

I can't get inside the mind of the twisted soul who could justify doing something like this, be it Boston or Kabul. And I've been a really sinful person.
Where evil has abounded, may His grace and healing abound ever more so.

I just want to thank you all. Scrolling through these comments last night was a very good support.
Continuing to pray for all those in Boston, Kirkuk, Afghanistan, and anywhere else whose lives have been shattered by violence in the previous days.
