Ditto. We can only hope.

Now, there's an idea. It would solve the "which relatives do we name the boy after" problem
From everything I have seen, TRH the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have their heads firmly screwed on, and there is plenty of recent precedent to keep the media away from Royal children outside the occasional staged appearance. I expect they will do just fine.

Do we have a name yet?

"Kensington". Very American naming a child after a place.
Grans might like Balmoral. But Frogmore...maybe not so much.

Kensington has far more class than Chelsea.

And a hearty welcome to the little one!

Congrats to them.

Indeed! Lovely news. And very historic to have three generations of heirs to the throne at once, plus current sovereign--apparently last happened in 1894.
A joyous moment for the country. I think "James" would be nice, James Cambridge (if that's the surname they choose, apparently I read they can also choose Mountbatten-Windsor of just Windsor) has a nicer ring than the bookmakers' favourite, George.
George Cambridge doesn't flow trippingly off the tongue.
But we'll see, they may surprise us. I also think David Cambridge sounds lovely but David was Edward VIII 's name en famille so that may not be a tactful choice...

That's good news indeed
I heard it first here. I quite like the name Stanley personally but George is a safer option for a royal.

As a titled royal, His Tiny Royal Highness doesn't have a surname.
He will be HRH Prince Whatever of Cambridge, and will almost certainly use the same "Whatever Cambridge" at school etc.

{{{{{{{Baby. Katherine, and William}}}}}}}
May they all have long, happy, healthy, peaceful lives together.
May the paparazzi and deranged persons either have Damascus Road "leave them all alone!" moments. or be kept away.

I think he should be called Middleton Spencer Darren.

It is likely that Grand-dad will be King by the time the little lad goes to school, so he would use eg Xavier Wales (always assuming that his father is created PoW in his turn.)

You're giving The Queen less than four years?!

Well, Great-Granny still looks chipper, and I actually hope she will carry on until I'm in my dotage (Prince Charles is 3 months younger than me, so I donno what that says about his chances)

His name's George Alexander Louis, according to the BBC.

That's His Royal Highness, The Prince George of Cambridge to the likes of you and me, WesleyJ.
Of course people over here are calling that a nice tribute to the Queen's Father, but George was his regnal name. His own name was Albert, and until he acceded the throne, he was known as Prince Albert, Duke of York. He was known as Bertie to family and close friends.
Louis seems almost de rigeur these days. Alexander is also a Battenburg name.

Do these people not think?
The poor lad is going to be GAL all through his school years.

Oopsy!
Maybe Mummy and Papa know more than we do!
BTW, there's an unnecessary The in my post above. He's merely a Prince, not The Prince. At least not yet.

He should be able to angle for "Gallons" as a nickname without too much trouble.

And got slapped around a lot more. Morris Oxford, Austin Cambridge was the rule - and ultra dull cars they were too.

I was thinking that, perhaps, she might take this opportunity to retire, and play with her grandson. Perhaps he could even ride a Corgi, when he's one-ish, or so.

She could hang out with Beatrice and Albert at Dunrainin. They could invite Benedict round and play bridge.
Though I suppose he might feel a little left out when the others starting passing round the latest snaps of the grandbrats.
