Traditionally, when I lived there, I always met people by the Clock in Eastgate, or in the Cathedral Refectory, but I'm not sure if you can get to that without paying to get into the Cathedral these days. However, I've not been for quite a while, so don't know the good places these days.
Annoyingly, I've chosen to be away the wrong weekend, or I would have joined you. Have a lovely time.

The Eastgate Clock, or on the road underneath, is a good place to meet. It is 30 and more years since I lived in Chester but there used to be some good hostelries down on the river. To get to the river just follow the walls clockwise for a few minutes and there it is!

I've just posted on the other thread the possibility of changing the date to the 24th...
I do apologise profusely for the confusion - things here have been...busier than I anticipated, and I've had the complication of being without my tablet and therefore having to borrow computer access out of office hours.
I have no idea where the eastgate clock is! With adequate direction I should be ok.

Thanks WW! Kingsfold and Mr StEverild (not a shipmate) and I will be there tomorrow, and we will drink a toast to you...might be in coffee at that time though.
