Apparently Boris Johnson, London mayor and national treasure, made a bit of a b*ll*cks of this IQ test.

I've always regarded myself as a Piglet Of Very Little Brain, but I got 100%. [Yipee]

What about you?

100% here as well

Clearly, Boris is highly intelligent and also incredibly stupid. But he's also a good actor, since the bumbling buffoon affectation is only there to distract you from the highly purified incarnation of Thatcherite evil that he embodies. Given how frequently he gets elected, and how high some opinion polls have him, he is pretty good at this distraction.

YMMV, of course. And I also got 3/3.

Total Fail. They will be making me Lord Mayor of London next week. [Biased]

This is not an IQ test. I got 1/3 - need to read questions a little better.

Am I brighter than Boris? Well yes. But then I scraped stuff off my shoe that it brighter than Boris.

[Big Grin] 100% right. But then, I've seen all 3 of those 'trick' questions before. And I knowe naught this Boris of which ye do speak

100% here too. (That one about the bear I remember from over 50 years ago.)

Not an IQ test (though IQ tests usually include verbal reasoning questions). I got two out of three, because I did not assume that going to bed is the same thing as going to sleep.

That's a stupid test, with questions on a par with the old playground classic "antidisestablishmentarianism is a very long word, can you spell it?" (the answer to which is, of course, "I T").

Such deliberately obfuscatory verbal shenanigans may test for something, but it ain't intelligence.

As always, there's an xkcd covering this sort of thing.

There's a longer test in The Daily Fail, if anyone's interested.

A guess at Boris's answers:

1) Why are we taking apples away from those who have? This is rank socialism!

2) Typical. We a question about an entrepreneurial constructor who builds his own house, and then you go and make it all about race.

3) Too many! Rank laziness!

For readers of the Daily Fail, an intelligence test is somewhat moot.

100%. I am brighter than Boris. But so is a 40W bulb.

Not quite the shilling. I have a 24-hour wind up clock, doesn't everyone? I aspire to Boris.

Dunno how I did on the exam. I took it last year!

I am more fond of this one:

In an office of trained medical professionals, I was the only one to catch on to it.

I work with a Jamaican guy named Boris: he's much brighter and stronger than the mayor (who has nice hair) and also more than a wee bit younger...
