Am I right in thinking it depends which server you are on, whether you can see other players? My WoW consultant advises me UK can't play with US.

I think it has to do with which server you're on. I'm on Kul Tiras and Bladefist (which are compatible with each other), myself.

I've been considering reactivating my old free account and finally grinding up from lvl20 now that I can pay ;-) I've always played on Bronzebeard because that's where my mates are, but would be happy to get together a char on another server if there was a Ship guild to join!

Well, it's not a formal Ship guild but I have a nice Horde guild I run (called "Seekers of Wisdom") on Kul Tiras which is compatible with Bladefist.
