Shipmates may wish to note that the Canadians now have two new saints, both RC-- François de Laval, the first Bishop of Québec and the first bishop in Canada, who built up the first solid manifestation of Christianity here; and Marie de l'Incarnation, one of a line of strong-willed kidney-punching nuns in French Canada, a terror of the establishment of the time, and translator and author of devotional material in the Algonquin languages.

A couple more sweaters - des saintes-flanelle - hoisted to the rafters and their numbers retired. Sounds good.

I like the thought of a kidney punching nun, perhaps I should try it the next time someone doesn't listen. New Saints are always good though so thank you for posting the information.
