Tried to engage purgatorially but the monstrance thread was killed before anyone else could join in.

Yeah. But that just means someone maybe knows who said it rather than what it means, if anything.

The OP was unequivocally framed solely as a request to identify the author of the quotation. As such it rightly belongs on the questions thread in Heaven.

Purgatory is a place for discussion. It's not a place where you stick random posts in the hope they'll attract more attention than elsewhere.
