I tried to post something on Signs and Blunders with a photo uploaded from my computer just now. It told me: Internal Server Error. The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, admin and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. Was that a Sign or just a Blunder?

I'm going to say attempting to upload a photo. ISTM, this is not allowed.

It would not seem so, as it offers the option to browse and upload, all of which works until you have completed the process.

Photos - nope, no photos here. If you want to post one, put it up somewhere else, like on a photosharing site like Flickr and then post the link to it. Works great.

That applies to the forums, but Signs and Blunders is part of the magazine side of the Ship - and it does ask for photos to be uploaded.

Ah, sorry for the confusion. I have never seen that page before and misunderstood. If it is any consolation, I did just try to upload a random image on that page and got the same error message.

The board admins don't have any role over the magazine articles, so there's little we can do to help. I have sent an email to alert those who may be able to look into it to this thread. I can't say whether anyone else can assist, but it's the best I could do.

Thanks!

I get that message all the time when posting regular posts longer than say a page or so. Yes, I'm verbose enough for that to happen all the time. I put jokes like that - and like this - in there all the time, that's why.
I've come to conclude that it's probably somehow got to do with that the transfer of information is to big for the internet connection I'm on, leading to it taking to long and hitting some sort of barrier or maybe threshold of sorts. Others appear to be fine with posting long posts, and it seems to grow worse at peak times, i.e. when the internet is slower than usual, leading to these conclusions.

When Mr. C. found a good 'Signs and Blunders' pic, he emailed it to Simon direct. Simon liked it and therefore included it on the page. So if you don't get any luck with the automated way of doing it, then a personal email might be something to consider.

Probably both...
It looks like there's a bug in a standard library on the server (that was introduced during an update) or the library no longer works as it did previously.
Pending a patch or a workaround, you'll need to include a link in the form or send an email (as suggested by lily pad / Chorister).

Did this affect the 'Born Twice' submission link as well? I sent one a while back, so now I'm wondering if I should re-send by email.
