Tonight is the pairing program. Some celebs * know. Could be an interesting year.

Just wish they had got a replacement for Brucie rather than Claudia! Would have liked to see Anton take on the role as he rarely gets paired with a decent celeb!

Celebrities?
I recognised five faces, and if one of them hadn't participated in another 'celebrity' competition recently it would have been four.

Well what can I say. Alison needs to calm down. Judy needs to come out of her shell, and Scot Mills needs a miracle.

All I know is that I am deeply conflicted.

Knowing nothing about dance, and not having seen them do anything, at this stage my loyalties are based firmly on Inappropriately Sexist Thought Patterns and "Is one of the pair clearly an irritating twonk".

Which leaves me in a quandry as one of my favourite dancers (based on ISTP) is paired with a clearly irritating twonk, and ditto one of the celebs.

What to do, what to do?

I'm not sure how excited I can get about Strictly this year...I don't have any emotional attachmennt to any of the slebs, and my favourite dancers have all been gradually given the boot so there's noone left that I like (except possibly Kevin-from-Grimsby)
Bruno's interminable posturing, and Craig's false grumpiness (I think he has a delightful smile - I wish he was allowed to show it more often!) as well as Len's hearty hail-fellow-well-met hows-yer-father walnut pickling jokes are all very tedious.

I'll watch the first couple of shows and see how it goes. It's a relief to get rid of Brucie but will Claudia become annoying, I wonder...

Yup, that pretty well sums it up for me, too.
(Kevin wasn't swearing his glasses for the pairing-up show, I hope he hasn't swapped them for contacts)

What a grumpy lot you are!

I think the celebs are pretty much as usual. There are a range of sports stars, soap stars, TV stars, and other stars. I recognise a few of them, but not all, but then I don't watch the soaps.

I think there will be some fun this year. I don't know who I am rooting for yet, partly because the two I feel most sympathy with will probably be out very soon (Gregg and Tim).

The thing is, for a few weeks, it is a lot of fun. Sometimes embarrassing fun. Roll on!

I got quite drawn in to "Tumble", which finished on Saturday - it seemed to be used by the Beeb as something of a warm-up act for Strictly. Wonder if they'll do it again.
