So what would you really like for Christmas?
World peace? Your own castle? The ability to fly? An entire case of your favourite tipple? A holiday on a tropical beach? To sing with your favourite band? A genuine famous artwork to hang on your wall? The ability to suddenly play the piano to concert standard? A large plate of buttered Brussels sprouts?
Assume that just about anything is possible...

This is what I want-- just enough of a windfall to pay off my debts, to be completely unbeholden to my relatives in any way except affection, to be self- sufficient, and to be able choose a job based on the quality of the program rather than the paycheck.
Garnish would be enough regular income to regularly travel..anywhere I wanted.

If it's a 'me sized' sum then a modest home of our own, with nothing owing. If it's humungous, enough to buy up a load of unoccupied homes, repair then then rent or sell them to provide funds to do the same for more.
Oh the joy of rents and house prices falling as supply gets close to demand.

I'd like to be able to pay my debts and be able to face something like a crown without panicking about the bank account.
And a new job with nice people would be lovely.

Okay. Then I'd like perfect health for myself and my loved ones.

Mine is similar but probably in Norfolk with barns to convert so we can sell my wares/my husband can run a business. Last year we were very tempted by a working windmill with attached house and cafe ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

Me, too! If we had perfect health, that would equate to more monetary resources.

Right now, I would settle for knowing that we will be able to pay the rent for all of next year.
Otherwise, for the laws of physics to be tweaked, so that Fair Trade chocolate has 0 calories.
And for sustainable peace and stability to break out across the world.

I'd like a small-holding in the Republic of Ireland with a good surfing beach, RC parish and a pub and grocery store within walking distance; enough funds to allow for expenses and perhaps a Ford Focus and a Ducati for transport...

Non-selfish thing: the eradication of cancer, which has taken far too many friends and relations.

One last big- tall wish, very selfish, and too silly to even articulate. But I will blow out the last few candles on my 2 week old birthday cake and cross my fingers...

A medical breakthrough that means that cancer, dementia, and diabetes are things of the past, and their effects mostly reversible.
For people in the Middle East to say, "We're sick of endless fighting, let's just stop now and start building instead of destroying."
I'd like my own home and a small, intelligent dog or cat (or both) for company. Perfect eyesight would be wonderful too.

Those. And what Kelly wants above (enough windfall to pay off mortgage and car loan). With some windfall left over to ensure that my soon-to-be-95-year-old father can live out his days with enough money to continue paying for the Assisted Living services he gets now.
(As it is, he'll run out of money in three months, and Arizona's version of Medicaid is putting us through hell trying to get him to qualify.)

Obviously world peace, cure for cancer, overnight solution to global warming (preferably one that doesn't involve me having to give up my car!), and all that.
But also for my husband to become a Christian, or even for him to warm to the idea even a leeeeeeeeetle bit.
For my wonderful recently un-closeted elder daughter never to know prejudice based on her sexuality.
And for my amazing younger daughter to know how amazing she is and for her to find support from family and friends when she needs it so that she doesn't feel the need to hurt herself ever again.

I wish for peace in my family. Given we're in Heaven, I guess I can wish for Heavenly (-wards?) growth in me, since I'm the only person I can change etc etc - to help bring this about. And notwithstanding this I wish for wisdom to know if and when it's time to let it go.

For my nephew: the wisdom to know that smoking crack and drinking alcohol does not solve anything.
For my niece: I think she knows that we all love her and the littles need her. May she solve the PTSD she has been diagnosed with and realise that her eldest daughter's suicide was not her fault even if she was the one who found her. And that it would have happened anyway.
For her sister (yet another niece) to deal more efficiently with her bi-polar personality.
For me: to work out my estrangement with my brother (not the father of the above three), even if I finally decide that there is no way to resolve it and to live with that decision.
And for really pie-in-the sky: May all the children of God learn to live with each other, despite differences.
That's my Christmas list for this year.
God have mercy. ![[Frown]](frown.gif)

All of that sounds great, but why a Ford Focus? With a choice any car in the world, at least go for something decent!
