In honour of my birthday, there is a Name Change Amnesty! Please announce your new name to the rest of the Ship here!
When changing your name, please bear in mind the following:
Choose wisely. You’ll be stuck with whatever you’ve chosen until the next Amnesty. And goodness knows when that will be!
Name changes must be included in your signature for two months. The limit for signatures is four lines.
You must post a few times during the two months. None of this changing your name and then not posting for two months so no one knows who you are malarkey.
Well, what are you waiting for?!

I used a picture of a Blue Peter flag when I sprung for a picture and a slogan. The Blue Peter means "proceed to sea". I have waiting for the name change chance to add to my screen name. Hence forth:
no prophet's flag is set so...
with the Blue Peter picture
then the slogan: Proceed to see sea
(I know it's goofy already. )
Happy Birthday and thanks for the present!

I was going to say in my sig that I got tired of people asking what I was late for, but no one has in ages so I didn't. The "late" in my name doesn't really have anything to do with being unpunctual. For a while I had a custom title "only mostly dead" which was a reference to the state of my faith and my favourite film, so I liked to think people would see it as "late" as in "the late paul" but I think most people missed that.
Anyway...
Now I don't have to explain any of that any more!

Posted by JenGie Jon (# 273) on

Well the first part is Jen, the second part is a hard g followed by the diminutive ending that is spelt either 'ie' or 'y'.
I may have got the spelling slight unusual as the fact remain it depends on a mispronunciation of Jenny-John where an extra j/g sound got into the mix. Maybe beccause my parents could not decide whether I was Jen-John or Jenny-John so sort of starting the John and then reverting. Or it might be that in actual fact they included my real first name in which case it should be JenJea Jon but a "j" in the middle looks wrong so I use a G instead Jenjea or perhaps Jenjee

Having matured (or perhaps demented) since joining the Ship some 8 years ago, I've decided to put my more upbeat youth behind me and drop the rebellious adjunct to my screen name.
I've actually been meaning to do this for more than four years now, but keep missing the name amnesties.
Now all I need to do is get round to fixing my avatar which still hasn't decided whether it's a study in pained neutrality or an inverted good-doer.

Also Pomona is the name of a city in California, home of a state polytechnic university that designs and builds a usually whimsical Rose Parade float in concert with its sister polytechnic in San Luis Obispo every year.

You mean the Dylan song (which of course was never "pop", and was early enough in his oeuvre to be "folk.")? I heard him do it live once. *happy sigh*
But I suspect you didn't mean that one, and in any case I digress.

Peter Pettigrew was a Gryffindor, and Andromeda Tonks (née Black) aka the good Black sister was a Slytherin. I wouldn't call Slughorn dodgy.

Yes, that's how you play - you are sorted at the start and then you win points for your House. I don't do the duelling or potions though, I just get the new info from the interactive chapters (all the books up to and including GoF are on there currently).
