I'm trying to make a single donation to the Floating Fund in UK sterling by credit card. The form is not working. Please could somebody fix it? Thanks

Thanks for wanting to donate and sorry that you couldn't. I'll contact Simon as the Admins can't fix stuff on the main site.
If you have a paypal account, you can donate that way.

I raised this matter here months ago from Australia. Pretty well every reply said it had been the same for a long time.

Fingers crossed for a lasting fix this time! In the meantime, if people want to donate, the paypal link still works. The address is paypal@shipoffools.com.
Thanks to everyone who donates. It helps keep the site running.

Thanks for trying but it still isn't working. I now get the first form, but when I click the button to go the payment page my browser says "Error 404 page not found"
Oh well, it'll have to be a cheque then.

You haven't got any money from me recently for the very sane reason that using Paypal is not a sane option, in my opinion.

Thanks for the posts here and sorry our payment links have been out of action. Things are now fixed and donations can be made by credit card or PayPal.
PayPal handles both types of payment. If you're paying by credit card, follow the 'Don't have a PayPal account?' link on the payment page.
Here's the Floating Fund page.
Thanks.

Interested parties can see a summary of the Ship's accounts from the last three years here as well.
Administrative costs 2012-13: $666. Which explains a lot.

It's spent on luxury yachts for the Hosts.

It's carried forward to the next year, WK. Some years we've made a small loss and others a small profit, but essentially we've been able to stay even and cover our costs.

I thought it was used to buy GIN for the Hosts' and Admins' Lounge.

thanks - I was just curious because it didn't show up individually as carrying over into the next year, I guess it could have been included in the next year's "donations"

Random question: will there ever be an option to donate in Euros or is it easier to just eg donate via the sterling link? [ 01. March 2015, 16:41: Message edited by: marzipan ]
