Someone post the observation that "Two of Herod's sons were also named Herod--Herod Archelaus, the ethnarch of Judea, and Herod Antipas, the tetrach of Galilee. The Lukan reference to "Herod, King of Judea" could easily refer to Archelaus."

RESPONSE:

No. Archelaus was a enthnarch. He was never designated as a "king" by either the Romans or Jews.

Th Romans crucified for insurrection any who claimed to be a king and were not so appointed by Rome.

That was the cause of Jesus crucifixion, you may recall.
