Monday is 29 February. A friend of mine will celebrate his 13th birthday by having a nice bottle of whisky.
Are you planning anything special?

Maybe I'll watch a DVD of Pirates of Penzance.
(with Kevin Kline as the Pirate King, of course!)

I thought of "Penzance", too. For those who don't know, a character in the Gilbert and Sullivan musical (Frederick?) was born on Feb. 29th, which only comes every 4 years, so there's a question of how old he really is. The "Paradox" song concerns that.

My grandmother died on 29th February. It was completely in character for her to die on an awkward date. Four years later my grandfather died on 23rd February and was buried on 29th February.
I will remember them both fondly tomorrow. They were the most wonderful grandparents.

I think this is the relevant scene? (I had to look it up.)
for NEQ's grandparents.

From the Wikipedia page, I understand it is an issue in some jurisdictions: if you're born on a leap day, from what day will you be allowed to drive?

Lord P is flying to Texas tomorrow. He's coming back on 1st April, two dates which appealed to his sense of humour.

At least next year he won't be able to say "today last year I was flying to Texas!"
BTW, when I was University, in one of the year books it turned out that all students who had their birthday on 29 February were in the Computer Science department.
We looked for a causal link.

No
We concluded that children born on a leap day would become more interested in number systems, and hence choose Computer Science later on.
It was utterly scientific.

I'm the best lady at a wedding.
So starting the day with a visit to the hairdresser then taking the groom for breakfast before getting ready.

Does getting married on Leap Day mean you only have to give presents every four years? But then again, it will always be an easy day to remember.

Good tactic!
It does feel a bit like I'm working a day extra for free today.

All I know is that if you only get to celebrate your anniversary every four years it better involve fine jewelry, a gourmet restaurant, or a suite on a cruise ship. Or all three.
