The great boxer, activist, and reputed founder of rap has died.*
I don't know what is said when a Muslim dies, but may he be welcomed into Paradise.
*Based on his old habit of speaking in rhythmic verse--"I'll float like a butterfly, and sting like a bee", etc.

May he punch the light out of deceased suicide bombers of all ilk, who, expecting virgins, undoubtedly won't be expecting him!
An interesting personality, very much part of the 60s and the 70s. He was always there, doing this or that. And most of it rather loudly.
May he rumble on in pleasant jungles, according to his belief.

Except he's in heaven; they're in the other place.

Not necessarily, if they acted in good faith. Was it George Forman who said on Radio 4 this morning that MA's room in Heaven would be next to God's master bedroom?

My mum used to let me stay up late to watch bis boxing matches live.
I later on because interested in Nation of Islam.
One of the 20th century greats.

Bigger than boxing, bigger than sport and bigger than celebrity. As he said, he was the Greatest.

I’ve tussled with a whale.
I done handcuffed lightning
And throw thunder in jail.
You know I’m bad.
Just last week, I murdered a rock,
Injured a stone, Hospitalized a brick.
I’m so mean, I make medicine sick.
May it serve him well in his next encounters.

He was one of the first sports personalities in the USA to really take what was at first an unpopular stand and have the balls to stay with it.

Yes, and a lot of people who criticized him at first came to respect him for it.
Not just a great athlete, but principled. And funny and smart. We'll miss him.
Rest in peace.

Indeed. Certainly worth repeating and something I'll remember him for, myself not being into boxing much.
