There are lots easily available but no real comparisons.Any advice to the merits of the most popular would be appreciated

I use BRF's Guidelines. I find them reasonable.

Occasionally I think I should swap to something else, but I haven't found anything that suits me better.

I find that if I really want to do something that makes me thing, I need a more intense engagement with a commentary maybe, and (for me) the original language text. But for a small daily dose of intelligent reflection I find Guidelines is (are? [Confused] ) OK.

I read Barclay's Daily Study Bibles.
Excellent stuff.

I've taken a look at them for myself, and I agree with your assessment.

I think BRF offer a free sample of their stuff for you to try. Our local Christian bookshop has been willing to let people try out past-their-date Bible reading materials to see what suits them.

The Hosts have had a bit of a backstage confab and thought this thread might get a higher rate of response in All Saints. Hang onto your colored ribbon markers!
