A great loss and the chief Rabbi didn' even mention it.

I have to confess that I was unaware of him, but he sounds like a remarkable man, a man after my own heart (and stomach). RIP, indeed.

For many, many years I remember this humorous, wise man contributing to countless radio and TV programmes. Always worth listening to. God bless his family in their loss.

Rabbi Lionel Blue was a good bloke, and is without doubt now in his rightful place in heaven.

I think he was the first non-Christian to present Thought for the Day. He had the knack of putting across serious points in a lighthearted and numerous manner. A great man who will be missed.

Even as a child, when he was on the radio on a Monday morning, it made the day a better one.

His light hearted manner on the radio could be quite deceptive in a sense. He was very intelligent and a respected scholar within the Reform community. I still enjoy reading his Thoughts for the Day. His three autobiographies are also well worth reading - especially his most recent one which is extremely honest.
