CU is "Christian Union", a student group of evangelical Christians in all UK universities, the executive is the committee that runs each CU. SCM is "Student Christian Union", and have groups in many UK universities and are largely liberal.

Scz is well known for his anti-evangelicalism and dislike of UCCF (CUs parent body). Spawn hasn't exactly shown himself to be a liberal.

I ascertained a couple of weeks ago that I had died and was in hell, paying for all of my sins. But then things started to improve everso slightly, so maybe I was just dreaming it.

And then this thread comes about, and Spawn, Sasha and Ley Druid -- three of the four most retarded members of the board -- none of whom can let an opportunity go by without telling me how much they detest me, as if (a) I give a flying rat fuck or (b) they matter, decide to dogpile, reinforcing my belief that I AM in hell paying for all of my sins, as well as the sins of every other asshole on the planet. After all, I don't think even Hitler deserved to have them as part of his fan club. All it's missing is the King Retard and then I'll have the complete set.

How come you get so pissed off then, Erin?

I thought for a second you were going to have a moment of epiphany and realise that you were the fourth most retarded member - but I suppose self-awareness is not your thing.

I'm not pissed off at you, you're nothing but a worm; I'm just taking the opportunity to vent all of the bottled up frustration I've not been able to loose on the dumbass registration monkeys on someone who is, in the end, far more deserving of it than they are. After all, they actually do something worthwhile, while you are not much more than a festering pustule on the ass of humanity.

Erin, King Retard, the leader. I guess it kind of has a ring to it. Dammit, if that's what the leader says I'll go with it.

I know I'm probably going to be too purgatorial now, because I'm going to ask Spawn a serious question, but I'm really interested to know why he should post this:

quote:
Originally posted by Spawn:
This thread just makes me want to [Projectile]

Erin's admirers gather round again hoping to hear her dim-witted, foulmouthed abuse, while a relative newbie tries to ingratiate himself with her and the in-crowd. Pathetic.

... complaining about people who are (allegedly) fawning around Erin, when he confesses that, as for the subject herself...

quote:
you're drawing too many conclusions to say I don't like you or the membership - I don't even know you.
If one doesn't even know who Erin is, then how is it possible to rubbish her (alleged) supporters? Is there anyone else out there we should be ridiculing and disliking for their (alleged) sycophancy of some other particular person we have no personal acquaintance or knowledge of?

There's a neighbour down my street who I can say, hand on heart, I don't know. Should I start throwing bricks at her visitors, and those who pass by her window, occasionally looking in?

Or is this phenomenon to be only restricted to Spawn's choice of 'people not known to me but whom I will despise, along with anyone I think happens to like them'. How peculiar.

What is even more peculiar, however, is his other admission that....

quote:
I sometimes quite like your posts.
Please sir, can we, too, also quite like Erin's post but without your picking on us? No, seems not. Just you that's allowed to like them, then?

Maybe we're too stupid to really understand them as perfectly as you must do. Therefore, when you like them it's a reflection on your intelligence and insight, and when we like them it's because we're sycophants. Nothing like a consistent argument for proving your point, Spawn, and yes (old joke coming up) that was nothing like a consistent argument [Biased] .

quote:
I think you play the part of playground bully with consummate professionalism and I dislike that, but I don't confuse that with who you really are.
But how I struggle with this. 'I don't even know you' but 'I don't confuse [what you post] with who you really are.' Translated as: I don't know you but I do know that how you represent yourself isn't really you. Uhmmm. Anyone else noticed the fatal flaw in that <ahem> devastating argument [Biased] ?

Aww this is breaking my heart. Dogpile? You actually have the nerve to complain about dogpiling after all the threads in Styx by people who were concerned over the dogpiling of newbies (or anyone with a differing opinion) and your answer has always been the same; How many is too many? Where should we stop them? At five? At ten? Everyone has the right to express themselves, blah blah yada yada.

Now that, for once, you're on the receiving end, all of a sudden three (I've had 38 on one thread) is a "dogpile" and reason for Hitler references. Boo hoo.

Anselmina, I don't make the mistake of confusing the persona people acquire on boards like this (and I do the same) with who the person is. I can't say I dislike Erin because I've never met her and I don't know her. I might like her if we ever met - God forbid.

I don 't like the schoolground bully and I don't like her gang. Most of the time people don't behave like that on the boards. Occasionally the sycophancy takes over and people start egging her on. Occasionally the gang mentality sets in - especially in Hell. Everyone then wants to put the boot in. At times like these there is a lack of individualism - and it is the variety of individuals that I like about the Ship' I also agree with Sasha that Erin is too often rude on Styx when people ask quite reasonable questions. It is my natural instinct to kick against this sort of thing - ultimately that's my problem.

Did I answer any, part or none of your purgatorial question?

Erin, we're just giving you a tiny little dose of your own medicine.

Other people get really dogpiled often and you not only condone it, you take part in it, with the impunity afforded you through your position. Fr Gregory gets the least little bit pompous and he's raked over the coals. You repeated set yourself up as Lord of the Universe and get away with it.

Anselmina may not understand this but it is perfectly possible to like someone and appreciate what they do but still be irritated by a single aspect of their personality.

I saw the title and thought: 'Oh please, let this be a joke, yet... that too will be a disappointment'. Was a bit predictable [Disappointed] boring even. Stormie Normie Luvvie, why don't you come up to Heaven and try to create some *real* humour. God knows, we need it.

And by the way, Chorister:
quote:
I think your nemesis with the movers and shakers came when you bravely played the organ over the airwaves at short notice, Norman
(my italics) "I do not think it means, what you think it means".

This is how you win, Twilight:
Make a list of your enemies, then rank them, from weakest to strongest. Go to the weakest. Kill. Then work your way up the list. Do not take them all on at once. It is not efficient. You cannot wage war on many fronts at once. Just one at a time. (This is a public service announcement).

Also, I just sent the Ship some money and I am a poor poxy welfare recipient. Let's see some of youse do it.

Y'all realise that since you're all giving to the organ fund if you're wrong, she'll probably pick a zero-post apprentice and maximise the takings...

I know I would [Devil]

Well, if it's Fiddleback, I'll be happy to bet 25 quid (to the Organ Fund) that he won't show up, since it looks like his Lenten discipline involves shore leave.

Nah. In a moment of weakness she once listed Fiddleback as one of the people she likes. It's Lifeman. I'm sure of it.

I'm willing to add to my already very generous pledge* if I'm wrong.

You're probably right, Sine. King of Comedy = King Retard. It's almost too easy.

This is kind of like those charity auctions where people bid for a date with attractive bachelors and bachelorettes, but in reverse.

Dear Leader,
You would never do that.
What are your powers, oh your great leadershipfulness? Do they allow you to discern the biggest asshole on the Ship of Fools?

Did I answer any, part or none of your purgatorial question?

Sure, and at the risk of being barred from the thread, thank you for trying [Biased] . But I still don't get how you know you're not confusing an on-board persona with a persona you admit you don't know. That's all. If you don't know Erin how do you know her on-board persona isn't exactly how it's presented? Quite logical, really.

And you say you don't like her gang. Who are her 'gang'? Are they the people who 'like' her posts, or the people who 'like' her posts the way you do? I'm just trying to figure out why it's okay when you say something is likeable, but risible when others also clearly enjoy the same thing.

I'm fascinated to know why I may not 'understand this'. Please do tell me about myself, Twilight. I'm sure to learn something instructive and meaningful, no doubt [Big Grin] . Unless of course you, too, are coming from the 'everyone but Twilight is too stupid to really appreciate what is going on here' school of thought.

Anyway, I await revelation of myself at your insightful hands [Yipee] !

Come, come, La Druid. No need to think your position is threatened. I dare say at the very least you'll get First Runner-up, if not the Miss Asshole tiara itself.

...and of course, if for any reason Miss Asshole is unable to fulfill his/her duties...

What you don't realise, Spawn et Les Arse-kisseurs de Spawn, is that the supposed Erin Arse-kissers on here have probably all had a bloody good fight with her at some time.

The reasons are easy to see, because she's wrong about so many things; indeed a completely insane bitch on politics, politics and of course politics.

What you mistake for arse-kissing is simple respect of someone who can be so pathologically wrong about nearly everything, and yet dedicate so much time (completely wasted, of course) on this place, given that she has recently pointed out that she doesn't give a fuck about Christianity.

She's wrong about that as well, of course.

The thing is, Spawn, you're actually one of the biggest playground bullies on the boards. I suggest you sit down, take your head out of your arse and work out why.
