ROUND EIGHTEEN: MAD TOUR GAMES
For this round you are challenged to produce something original. A copy of a game from the circus is not acceptable and anyone posting a link to a game 'too similar' to your game will have you eliminated from the quiz.
Post your game (once invented) on the Mad Tour Games Board. We (and any other interested parties) will play the game by your carefully thought out rules. The person with the fewest posts will be eliminated even if they thought up the best game.
Take Your Time.
As being original is not easy you have a week to think up the rules and post the game. I shall be checking the results next Saturday.
This is the toughest test so far, and Also-Rans are welcome to add their individuality to the contest.

I'm just wondering whether games which have been played before, either in the circus or on the Mad Tour boards, are acceptable providing there isn't that game there at the moment, or does the game have to be totally original?
e.g. I think Word Disassociation, when I invented it, was completely original but it is no longer present on the Mad Tour Boards so would I have been able to re-invent it safely? Hypothetical question, of course, as I have instigated another game.

ROUND NINETEEN: TILT THE PLATE
A suggestion came in a while back that I think is right for this time. Imagine a plate balanced on a pole. You have to place a weight on the plate at a point of the compass - 1 to 360 degrees. The person who is nearest the floor when the weights are placed falls off (is out of the contest).
This one is pure luck - will you choose well or badly? You are required to PM me your chosen point and I will publish all points and let you know which of you has fallen off.
I like this idea. Let's see if YOU do!

I think the idea is that each of us states secretly where we would like Quizmaster to place a weight... politely too, I trust... or rather where we would like him to place the hypothetical weight on the hypothetical plate.
Imagining all these weights placed on simultaneously, QM will judge which of the weights will have been the metaphorical straw that broke the metaphorical camel's back i.e. the hypothetical weight that influenced the hypothetical tilt of the hypothetical plate in such a way that that weight ended up nearest the floor, or indeed first to hit the hypothetical floor!
I have to admit this type of round is not my favourite as it's too much down to chance and not particularly interactive, but then seeing as I'm not getting much time online due to hospital visiting, I suppose I should be grateful for small mercies. So merci, QM.

It's essentially a way of averaging (with 0 and 360 being the same), and the person who gets closest to the average loses.
Without doing too much calculation, I suspect QM will work out the sines and cosines of each of the angles, find the mean of them all and that should give him the position of the centre of mass of the system. He then just squares the average sine and average cosine, and that tells him how far from the centre the centre of mass would be. All he then has to do is work out what angle the centre of mass is at, and find whoever has the nearest angle. 'Cos I think that works physically, and I think QM is quite bright like that.
