We're away till Monday (I'm sure dl will post in the morning before we go). We're at dl's sister's wedding. (Think Diana's only bigger!).
In case I don't get to post, my answers to the next round/s are
108 Flourant Malouda 79.6 mph 29th August 1973 St Augustine and a small purple elephant
This all of course assumes I survive my m-i-l

In ahope that there are a few competitors as old as me (but not too many!) I choose Alexis Carrington/Colby .
QM: Will the quiz be held over the weekend for voting, next round etc - I have almost no net access at weekends, and I suspect I'm not alone in that!

But now it is a written rule.
Does that invalidate it because it is described as unwritten?
Will it then be replaced by any similar unwritten rules?
If so what would they be?

I am not a soap fan. So I went on a search and came up with this quote from This source::
quote: The BBC's Scotland-set comic soap opera returns for another season of laughs and tears in Monarch of the Glen: Series Two.
which could substantiate my claim, (since the BBC is mentioned, ) to Cosmo Kramer as being my comic soap hero of choice from Seinfeld. [ 20. October 2007, 00:46: Message edited by: Lady A ]

Of course, the PM list, being blank, would have been easy to draft.

As it stands I have had many PMs already but I have not had all of the replies. You have until Tuesday 22:00 English time (N.B. we put our clocks back this coming Saturday night) to let me have your PM.
Please note that I have a committee meeting tomorrow and if it drags on there will be a further 24 hour delay to the quiz.

I love those things PatDYS, I just got home from our annual managers conference, and sure wish they'd have used some of those, at least we wouldn't have nearly fallen asleep!
Maybe we should have a demotivational round, writing our own.

Anyone wishing to improve their brinksmanly credentials should take no notice of the change in Quizmaster's clocks. You will either post an hour too late or an hour early and you won't know which until you hit that "Add reply" button. I certainly intend doing this.

There's nothing remotely complicated about it. All you need to remember is that the UK changes from BST (GMT+1) to GMT at 2.00am BST on Sunday. Therefore, everything is as usual until 2.00am on Sunday. At that point, we switch to 1.00am GMT and we're on GMT until March. Clear as mud.
UK shipmates get an exta hour's sleep, and at least one person turns up at the wrong time at every church in the country.
As long as we don't have to do anything at 1.30am on Sunday morning UK time, there shouldn't be a problem.

I wasn't claiming it was complicated, just that I'm so used to the UK being 8 timezones away that for you suddenly to change to (ummm....9? -- or is it 7? -- OK, this is complicated) and then back to 8 in a week's time is a bit much for my little brain to cope with.

Our time would normally have changed this coming Sunday early in the morning. But now it's going to be the following week. So the computers and televisions and things that change themselves are going to be all messed up for a week.
And I'm confused enough already.

ROUND ELEVEN : MINELAYER
This is a nice simple round because all you have to do is pick a number and if you land on the mine then you are eliminated. I have chosen a number between one and twenty to allow for Also Ran entries as well as the competitors. Each individual gets his/her turn to pick a number between one and twenty. Each must choose a different number from the ones chosen before.
If an Also Ran picks the mine then you are all safe and everyone goes through to the next round.
Good Luck. Don't step on the mine!
