Ah yes, Ike and Tina (the ones I'm always confusing with our own Spike and Tina). Just as well I checked carefully which one it was. [Biased]

As agrgurich has pointed out on the 2008 thread, Mohammed Zahir Shah, king of Afghanistan, died back in July, aged 92. So he scores me 8 points for this year, and I need to think of someone else for next.

Oscar Peterson died yesterday at 82. Nobody had him, but he should be remembered anyway. His "Canadiana Suite" was a favorite album in my house when I was growing up.

Has anyone done a preliminary point check yet? Unless one of my disgustingly healthy choices gets hit by a bus in the next few days, I only have 51 points.

Usually one of the players volunteers to work that out and post it. Oh dear, I'm not one of the players. [Biased]

Would someone like to volunteer?

The winner of the Inside Track with The Grim Reaper prize was ferijen, who had a choice drop off in early January.

Uriel won by a street, and also had four correct picks to win the Quantity not Quality award.

The full list of points is here:

http://bpm.freeshell.org/deathpool.html

This year's scorecard will go up after I'm back from my walk.

Thanks for the scoresheet Basso. It has confirmed my view that they key to this game is to search for celebrities, even minor ones, with serious cancer - they are the ones most likely to go. If you pick people you don't like they won't die. If you pick people who are old you are picking those who have a skill for not dieing. It's not pleasant, but to get points your best bet will always be the seriously ill.

My 2008 team won't win, although I may come bottom, and could get some of the minor prizes!

I'll add this victory to my two previous SoF Fantasy Football titles!

Cheers,

Uriel.
