Oh, if we're doing people from the past, for me it has to be Lady Colin Campbell; I occasionally drop into the National Portrait Gallery for the specific purpose of allowing myself to be reduced to a state of blissful gibbering by Boldini's portrait of her.

When I was in my 20s I was fascinated by the husky voiced Fenella Fielding.

She is still alive and in her 80s.

It could be I'm fickle but, forty years on...
