I kind of agree with Chelley. EVE may have been a necromancer, but he seemed like such a nice necromancer.

I'm trying to remember what the role of the policeman was in past games, which differentiated that role from either the detective or the doctor.

I obviously failed to convey his true nature, then - he may have been outwardly civilised but he was still quite happy to torture a dead baby in order to ingratiate himself with a cat. And he didn't even have any illusions that the cat might be remotely grateful.
