Exactly! The whole exchange was absolutely note perfect!

MT, Evensong's a defender of lost causes, underdogs and the perpetually bewildered. You're not any of these things. Plenty of people defend you, Kelly for a start.

This is getting surreal.

TBH, Mousethief, I honestly started with the Furby thing because I couldn't stand seeing a Hell call hang there without getting one shot in. I figured there was a fifty-fifty chance of you finding it funny, or it hitting you the wrong way and me enjoying the sight of a mouse-tantrum. Win-win, for me. Popcorn at the ready.

How this all wound up with me being declared your defender I don't know. It leaves me despondent. I really couldn't fight my way out of a paper bag, could I?

Kelly defends all sorts of disreputable characters. Bad habit that.

Aye Kelly. It was fun for me to watch you two at it too. Alas, not having your gift at tail pulling, I tried to poke Mousie just a little, but he just complied. Oh well, you win some and I lose some, so it's all good.

Let modesty be damned. People don't always get the better of Mousie, so you go girl.

Cheers!

Oh come on!

Mousethief gets called to Hell and it turns into two pages of twee satire!!

He’s a twat for fuck’s sake and should be abused as such! His method of arguing marks him out as a twat, his humour marks him out as a twat and his latent socialism marks him out as a twat.

I get off a plane, drive three hours home, kiss the missus and kids and check this site to find that Mousethief is called to Heck!

I know you can do better than that. I’ve been on the receiving end of it to know full well how you can vomit bile and blood over someone and his Hell call is the equivalent of being on Have I Got News For You or a roast by the Harvard branch of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy!

Get on with it before we all get bored and do something we will regret later such as try crack or buy a kebab.

But it wouldn't be a surprise if I did it. Now if Ken came out of the jungle via a monkey bite to Mousethiefs gonads then it might be worth hanging around for.

Alternatively if Josephine pointed out that he's crap in bed and needed five or six viagra to get it up then maybe the thread would be worth keeping alive (Boy that thought is going to linger!).

I fuckin' tried!

The thing is, when MT is being cool, you want to just live in the moment, because it can pass with lightning swiftness. And then all of a sudden you find yourself having a conversation like this:

Kelly:I like navel oranges.

MT: Oranges don't have navels.

Kelly. It's just what they call them.

MT: Who's they?

Kelly: I dunno, some fruit mogul I guess. It's just part of the language now.

MT: So you are willing to continue a scientific inaccuracy just because it's the common practice? No wonder Creationist hold sway in our country.

Kelly: How the hell did Creationists come into it?

MT: If you can't parse that, I don't see why I should help you.

Kelly: Lighten the hell up, Mousethief, it's oranges. Why are you suddenly the Noam Chomsky of oranges?

MT: Why are you being so bitchy?

Kelly:Why are you being so douchey?

MT: How the hell dare you call me a douche?

Kelly: You started it! You called me a bitch!

MT: Tu quoque!

The differences between you and mousey are too numerous to list.

One big difference is that he uses wit.

No, I am saying I'd rather conserve precious energy that I might waste on MT when he is tarbaby mode--which is getting rarer and rarer, to his credit-- that might be using on more consistent, career douchebags such as yourself.

I fully expect you to get reamed up down and sideways for your ugly crack about Josephine and look forward to it. If you really wanted us to focus on MT, making that remark was a very, very bad idea. You make him look like fucking Gandhi right now.

Do we have anything to discuss, here? Or is it really the pathetic circle-jerk it appears to be?

I think we're discussing whether Kelly can actually be mean to people or whether she's unrelentingly nice.

But I could be wrong [Biased]

My apologies, Comet. I thought the whole thread was pretty pointless. I will stop now.

The whole thread IS pointless. Rest assured, that comment was not directed at you.

By my count, if you add in the Emily thread, I have snarked all over four different people in the past two days.If they refuse to be insulted, it's hardly my fault.

And an odd paradox I've noticed is that a lot of same people who insist on referring to me as "nice" -- not you Sark, cover your ears, I know you love me dirty, but a lot of people, on or off Ship-- are the same people who freak right the fuck out when I tell them something they don't like, or unexpectedly disagree with them, or express a nasty thought, or lose my temper, or just generally do something other than tell them how great they are.

Witness Sine on the other thread-- I told him once, like a year ago, that he'd thrown the word "Loser" into a couple posts in ways that struck me as odd --just that, just an observation-- and he remembers that as being "jumped on".

Holy Fuck. "Jumped on?" And he used to be a Hell Host.

I'm Sandra Dee, deano? Fuck that. Only if you deliberately ignore a lot.

See, when you make an observation, there's a lot of weight assigned to it. Thus a quiet tap on the shoulder balloons into a "horse collar tackle". A lot of people are out of your league, Kelly, but Sine should know better. Maybe being away so much has made him soft. [Disappointed]

MT: Tu quoque!

comet, it may be pointless, but it has sure as Hell been very very funny! I reckon it deserves Limboing when you get round to clear-out.

Much appreciated. I include deano's responses to someone pissing in his Cheerios as well.

But I suppose you're going to have to kill it, comet? Ah well. All good things must come to an end, I suppose.

I actually was trying to be authentic with MT, rather than blowing smoke up his ass, like what was happening with the first page. The dialogue I made up actually had roots in exchanges I have had with him (at least how they seemed to me.) Some of them weren't funny at all. Some of them had me logging off in tears.

I had no idea how he would react. I actually thought he might be pissed. But I guess ten years of hanging in there with each other proved itself-- from the way he reacted, he sensed the genuine love behind the sarcasm.

So, if all Hell is about is being as piss-mean as you can be, or establishing yourself as King of Badass Hill, then I guess I suck. But if part of it about being real, even if the person you are addressing is a notorious, take-no-prisoners badass who just might likely spend the next week or so paying you back for it--well, I think I did quite well.
