Aside: the Guessometer took a field trip with me today as I took the GRE (Graduate Record Exam—the standardized test used by graduate/business schools) for the second time (my old scores had expired). Turns out the test has changed a lot in the last six years; since it's now used by business schools as well as grad programs, they ask a lot of questions about algebraic statistics.

I've never taken a stats class in my life. Wouldn't know what a standard deviation was if you hit me upside the head with one. Why are you asking me trick questions about them?

Did a bit of logicing, and took a random guess. Looked things up later; turns out I was right! Well done, Guessometer!

...and does it know what the left hand doeth?

Anyway, consider yourself in a supportive role today - where would the rest of us be if you weren't there supporting us?

The Crew's Quiz is run by a website called "Fun Trivia" which is based in the US Central Time Zone. I doubt that they will listen to your complaint. The Ship has nothing to do with either the questions or the location.

In other news, if I had listened to the Guessometer, I would have had a perfect score. Again.

We're not all in Eastern Standard Time!

It's available 23.5 hours a day. The maintenance time is a bit annoying because it sometimes means I can't do the quiz just after dinner when my brain has a nice energy supply.
