Yes, the freedom from seizures (they were Not Agreeable At All) is a blessing, albeit tempered by the side-effects of the meds, but hey ho...

...and dropping in again to report that, following recent tests and new medication, my hypertension has been reduced (150 over 82 this morning!).

[Yipee]

Yes, I know that top line is still a bit high, but it's better than 200 over 115 at the last check...and hypertension does run in my family (thanks, Ma).

The good news is that I don't have Parkinson's disease. On the other hand (well, both hands) I have drug-induced Parkinsonism, caused by 40+ years on anti-convulsants, and that won't improve.

While joining the praise for WW's progress [Yipee] , with continuing upholding, there is also ground for rejoicing about our Shippie P's iSurgery (my prayer request of 18 September).

In the meantime, she's even had both (!) 'Windows to the Soul' done - to stay with the 'lectronic image -, and lo and behold, the veil has lifted from both of her eyes.

All is well, and she even enjoys her matinal caffeine intake again.

Thanks to everyone for your prayers! [Smile]

Rains! Sydney and pastoral districts very much need it. Much of the state did get some last week but Sydney has had a dry winter overall and has had just 2 mm of rain since the end of August. Forecast to be about 25mm, an inch, to fall here today.

Yes indeed, and in other news, a fresh Episcopal Carriage has been bought today (well, I take delivery of it next Monday, cos there's boring paperwork, like insurance policies, to sort out first).

Not the most exotic of Vehicles (a Ford Fiesta Zetec), but it is a most appealing shade of Blue, in honour of Our Blessed Lady.

[Yipee] I did it! [Yipee]

As I've said in various threads, I was raped some time ago. Since then I have not worn a skirt in town because I was wearing a skirt when I was raped. ( I do know that being raped has nothing to do with what a person is wearing, but the association was really strong in my head).

Several days ago I rediscovered a skirt I really like and decided I was not going to limit myself because of someone else's behaviour so I would wear it when I met a friend in town - so I did.

Time for a happy dance.

Giving thanks for quite a blesséd week, at work and home.

On Wednesday, a day off for me this week, I went to see two of my late mother's old lady friends, sisters, travelling with one (83 yrs old) by train and a half-hour walk to her older sister (88 yrs old), who now lives in a nursing home. We had coffee and biscuits, looked at old photos (theirs and mine/my mother's), nattered about times now and then, and went for a walk in the nice autumn sunshine, sat on a park bench, and just enjoyed the day, and life.

On Thursday, another day off, I decided to go for a little hike - long-planned, but never done! - in the vicinity of the town, to a remote valley and waterfall, and then for the first time, up a very steep hill to the near-top - with spectacular views, autumnal leaves and a fine sunset.

Finally, on Saturday, for some reason, I felt inspired to again fumble around in the innards of a used lappie which hadn't been turned on since May. This had been very frustrating. I soon found the problem why it didn't come on, although that may need to be seen to by a computer shoppe (I don't have the tools to fix it myself, but it can clearly be fixed), and I could set it right manually - and perhaps manly, might I add. [Big Grin] With a USB keyboard, the machine now works perfectly well again! Maybe all it needed was a few months' rest?! [Paranoid]

And last but not least, on Saturday night, a long Skype call and chat with an old friend, which was lovely.

So a lot of amazing, awe-inspiring things be grateful for this week, for me.

Very gratitudinally yours indeed, Wes of the Sillies [Smile]
