Clearly, CODE doesn't work in sigs. And, even if it did the resulting sig would be longer than the 4 lines we ask you to limit sigs too.

Click on the button that says URL.
Up will come a box that says ENTER THE COMPLETE URL FOR THE LINK YOU WANT TO ADD.
You could, if you are mad, try typing in this space. This might work if it was a short link.
However you probably want to copy and paste the link from the other site. This means having another window open in your browser. If you can't do that, and can't work out how to copy and paste, er, I suggest you get one of your relatives (possibly great-grandchildren ) to give you a lesson.
Make sure you have exactly one copy of the text http:// in the box as it will only work with one: not with zero or two.
Now click on OK. Then you'll get another box that says Now enter the title of the web page you wish to reference. You can put anything here. However if you are not linking to Ship of Fools it is not very sensible to type Ship of Fools.
Basically, click on the URL button and follow the instructions.

I don't think itwould make much difference, its my fault not the computers, and I don't swear at myself, I leave that to others. There seems no shortage of people on here willing to do that. ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

You don't need the "frameit" for a link to a board or thread which the management have already given a named URL. That'll put a frame inside a frame, and may result in problems with the board software deciding if you're logged in on the subframe.

I like to put the attribution inside the quote tags, but you can do it either way. The automated quote function puts it inside the quote but outside the bold, like this:
[quote ]Originally posted by Scot: [qb ] Some profound words. [/qb ] [/quote ]
quote: Originally posted by Scot:
Some profound words.
Of course, if you aren't bothering with bold, this format doesn't work.

I'm not normally one to shy away from picking on whiners, but I think your wee experiment might be a bit flawed, Kelly. Firstly, how often is an edit merely a one-character change? Secondly, you wouldn't be on a broadband connection, would you? Finally, as a Host you're not subject to flood control restrictions, which might play a part in editability.
Other than that, though, yeah - people should learn how to use Preview post.
