Can someone help me with a really dumb question? How do I make part of my sig italic like other people have done? There seems to be no font icon on the amend profile page.

To use italics, simply type in [ i ] before the text, and [ /i ] after it.
Without the spaces, of course.

The [QUOTE ][/QUOTE ] encloses the whole of the quoted bit, including the person to whom it is attributed. The [QB ][/QB ] bit turns the words of the actual quote bold.
Of course, the easy way to do it is to click on the speech mark icon at the top of the person's post and that will open a new window with the quote already in it.

I learnt&trade it the other day&trade!
put an & symbol directly after the word you would like to trademark followed by the word trade. test & trade (but without the spaces!)

No no no, read Scot's post.
Type the word you want to trademark
Leave a space.
Then type &trade with a semicolon straight after the word trade.
A semi colon is this one ; (Sorry if that sounds like stating the obvious)

If you're logged in prior to posting then your signature will appear. If you log in at the same time as posting, it won't.
That's what happens. I don't really know why it does, just one of the little quirks in the sorftware.
