[QUOTE]You could, if you are mad, try typing in this space. This might work if it was a short link.[QUOTE]

However you probably want to copy and paste the link from the other site. This means having another window open in your browser. If you can't do that, and can't work out how to copy and paste, er, I suggest you get one of your relatives (possibly great-grandchildren [Biased] ) to give you a lesson.

Make sure you have exactly one copy of the text http:// in the box as it will only work with one: not with zero or two.

Now click on OK. Then you'll get another box that says Now enter the title of the web page you wish to reference. You can put anything here. However if you are not linking to Ship of Fools it is not very sensible to type Ship of Fools.

Basically, click on the URL button and follow the instructions.

I post url links by coding for them rather than using the buttons. To make a flashy link with a short phrase or word showing:

code:
[url=http://www.whateverthewebsite]what you want to label your link as[/url]

Basically, using bb code (or html) you open a piece of coding using
code:
[url] or [b] or [i] or [quote]

url - for coding a website address
b - for bold
i - for italic
quote - for quotation
and close the coding using:
code:
[/url] or [/b] or [/i] or [/quote]

There are other codes you can use, including the code function which I used to show those codes, but those are your basic ones.

There's an icon above each post, that looks like some " " quotation marks. It will open a new reply window containing the text of that post in quote format - including the "Originally posted by ..." bit. Simply delete anything from the quote you don't need (leave the tags in [ ]) and put your reply at the end.

Get proficient at that and you can try inserting tags manually to split up the quote and reply to bits of it at a time.
