Have you ever seen a crying penguin? It happens whenever they deliver an empty envelope from Britain that's been cut open, the contents removed, and the USPS notes that it arrived that way.
So, on behalf of the Sad Penguin, I'd like to thank the Shippie who sent it on its way, even if someone obviously had their way with the package before it arrived.

How very disappointing for you, AA.
On a related note, the Penguin (having been catching it's breath over Easter) is about the leave the building and depart for somewhere south of here.
As it has to waddle, swim, or fly over water it may take a few days.

A penguin enlisted the aid of a French dormouse to deliver a fascinating pack of goodies - a CD with some interesting music, a cat book which I'm very pleased to rehome, a bookmark, mints, a shopping bag (very useful as we have to pay 5p for carriers in Wales), some unusual chocolate (I'd never come across blackberry and ginger!, a fridge magnet and a gorgeous card. Thank you - or should I say Merci Beaucoup!

I had a lovely package chock full of good things today. My dear PP enclosed the loveliest note, too. I am now wearing a lovely cross, have a pysanka for everyone to see, I can't wait to try the soap, and added some fabric to my 'stash'. The postman left a note saying that he had tried to deliver a package. I was out feeding my friend's cat. (See prayer thread; I kept a safe distance between myself and the cat!)

Came home after a long day to an interesting box full of wonderful things. Two lovely knitted ducks incubating chocolate eggs, TWO bars of chocolate, penguin eraser and a handmade bookmark. From someone who knows my tastes I think. Thank you, thank you Penguin you certainly made my evening.

Having at long last posted my parcel on Friday (multitudinous apologies, penguinee) I finally permitted myself to open the parcel sitting tantalisingly on my lounge table.
I was greeted by a very tall, very thin, very yellow, very fluffy er... thing. A parting of the hair revealed the eyes and beak of a very friendly bird who had clealy been busy laying chocolate eggs. More chocolate eggs, two bars of the most delicious chocolate and a bar of tablet......... I felt well and truly spoiled. And all entirely the most delicious tastes I could possibly have asked for.
Thank you thank you paschal penguin. I know I ought to know who you are, but I make a conscious decision when doing the random matchings to take no special note of who is given my details. If I thought about it, I'd remember, but I really love the anonymity and it's one of the few times that I can appreciate my encroaching senior moments. But it is a lovely lovely gift and I can only hope mine brings the same pleasure to its recipient.
(The Smudgelet has his beady eye on all the chocolate and tablet - Strangely enough his beady eye is hidden under a quantity of hair similar to a tall, thin, yellow, fluffy bird's!)

Thank you generous Paschal Penguin! I love the necklace ( though I may need to buy a new frock to go with it!) and the little purse & bookmark are gorgeous too. Thank you so much to my New Mexico Penguin for my parcel - a lovely cross - local to NM I'm thinking - and some truly spectacular pictures of holy places in the area. I too enjoy the mystery of the PP (well I don't know which of you it was do I).

Just dropping by to report that most of my bar of tablet was consumed on top of one of the many hills called Dodd in the Lake District, this one with a fine view across the Solway Firth of the land from whence it came. The last bit is waiting for the Knotweed to get her Celtic backside high enough to see it too.
A propos of nothing, Dodd has quite the campest summit cairn I've ever seen - the local rock (syenite) is startlingly pink!
Smudgie, you are a saint and a goddess for doing all this every year.

Sorry - I realised I PMed Smudgie, and forgot to post the relevant information here...
The Paschal Penguin, after picking up a nasty dose of flu whilst here and losing the plot in the recovery process, has finally recovered enough to be on the way south from here. (The intention was to post on the way home from work, on 19th April... and things went dramatically downhill on the way home.)
I had no card through the post from the post man - but, I do have neighbours who have sent things back to sender, rather than post through the correct door, and there are three roads of the same name in the city in the middle, so if the post code is wrong, things have gone astray!! It's worth double checking...
The first week of June should be safe for a retry as I'm home for half-term.

One recovered-from-flu-penguin dropped by today and left me a parcel. Many thanks for the assorted Green & Blacks - perfect size for random chocolate munchies! Also perfect in that I can usually eat a bite-size bar of 70% dark without triggering migraines - the temptation to keep eating the bigger bars can be too much at times ![[Roll Eyes]](rolleyes.gif)
