Problems here, I was getting into the cafe fine until I needed to restore my PC and at the same time downloaded XP SP3. Now I get told cannot launch Faverolle due to unsupported JNLP 1.5 when only 1.0 is acceptable... help???

Can I put in another pathetic plea for sound please?

It's fine for the usual suspects who attract each other's attention by private conversation, but if someone else wanders in, and we're not paying attention, we have no way of knowing that someone has been and gone.

It's been doing this every so often for a while - sending an error message, and giving an error message until it resets itself - which will be within half an hour, which is part of the reason for logging it.

The thing that happened just before it crashed this time is someone left who had been in for a while, left, came back in, and left again, all within quite a short space of time, if that helps any Melon, Gwaelod and pease. There were 6 of us in there just before.

It's back now.

(As I explained to Curiosity... last night, I accidentally 'upgraded' the café server while trying to upgrade our test site, which would have been good if the upgrade was compatible with the current café, which it isn't. The café continued to work until it crashed, and then it wouldn't restart because the code wasn't there anymore. Pease got the previous setup out of our automatic backups, and normal service should now be restored.)

I was able to access the ship with no problems, but there was no one there. Ghost ship? Is there a time (gmt) that is more populated, or is it just an issue of on/off service keeping people away?

There are usually people around in the evening to around 11/12 midnight UK time.

We used to be around a lot more during UK daytime, but schools are back now, so I'm not around as much and rufiki has a proper job, so the Usual Suspects are not going to be available during the day.

I second the desire for sound effects. Another chat room I visit has them and it's good from the perspective of someone who multitasks. I tend to call up said chat screen, then go bake a cake until someone enters.

If there could be one for someone entering and another for someone opening a private chat window with me that would do.

I would expect most cafe users would probably want an off button (or even make it an on button).

Sound would definitely be stop of the wish-list; also good would be a *Stepped Away/BRB* indicator, a more extensive range of smilies and maybe one of those things that shows if someone is typing a response.

I agree. Many thanks for what's been done. Sound and some of the aforementioned further features would be immensely helpful.

This not to annoy the powers that be (and devise the lovely SoF Cafe), but to suggest a more communicative chatroom - right now, it is as if we were blind. Yet we will see the glory of ITTWACCR!

Many thanks. [Overused] [Axe murder] [Angel] [Votive]
