TICTH finding Nigella Lawson attractive when she's cooking - especially puddings - because at the same time everything that comes out of her mouth makes me want to strangle her, and then I feel hungry.

Is this how it feels to be a serial killer ? I feel so degraded.

TICTH individual health insurance plans. I thought under the much reviled Obamacare, insurance plans were required to cover preventive care as of 2010. I'm looking at seven different short-term plans from two different companies and not a damn one offers preventive care, or prescription coverage, or pays for *anything* until your ridiculously high deductible is met. Which unless, God forbid, you have a catastrophic illness, you won't do during the lifetime of the plan. And all of the plans cost at minimum $175 a month *before* they find out that my husband has a preexisting condition.

God bless the USA! I sure am glad I live here in the home of the free where no one will oppress me with affordable health care!

TICTH the Chinese Propaganda Ministry, to whom Orwell is not a stranger. The victor doesn't write the history - the victor is he who holds the pen. And who is prepared to use any tool and sacrifice any worth or value in order to win. The calm, silent result-focused evil behind this is truly stepping over the boundaries of humanity. Or into it, in a petty demonic way.

The one who shall not be named here, the great ravening hunger from beyond the darkness of space (now sadly fallen on hard times) no more recks with trolls than a mastodon with cat fleas. The time of mere trolls is over! As soon as he is free from his inconvenient confinement the trolls shall know the horrors that lurk ceaselessly behind life in time and in space, and tremble before those unhallowed blasphemies from elder stars which dream beneath the sea, and they and he SHALL be free, known and favoured AS THEY ARE by a loyal cultus ready and eager to loose them upon the world whenever another earthquake shall heave their monstrous stone city again to the sun and air....

Behold though, SPK, a liturgical troll - can't remember one of those before. But look at the posting history; signed up in January, 2011, at the start of a calander year, has begun posting now, toward the end of a liturgical year.
I just wish she/he had shared its vision of the coming of Ruamkoko while the discussion of the eventual eruption of Yellowstone's super volcanoe was underway.
Rejoice and be of good spirits, SPK; a new chew toy for the palate of Lamb Chopped and others.

TICTH The Association of Presbyterian Church Educators.
It is great that you are holding your annual educational event in Orlando, Florida in February, 2013, in a hotel at the entranceway to Universal Studios.
But why did you have to call the event "Let's Play In Florida"?
Now everyone going has to convince their church boards to pay us to play; couldn't you have called it "The Theory and Praxis of Church Education" or something?

TICTH Gramophone Magazine, for taking the online archive of old issues, stretching back decades, that was available for free and replacing it with "subscribe to our iPhone/iPad app and you get access to our whole archive of back issues as well".

No fucking thanks.

This is progress, folks. And one day soon you can forget about buying a magazine and having it sit on your shelf for as many years as you want. No, it's clear what the future is going to be: having to repay for a subscription every year or you'll lose your library. They have the power. They are going to use it.

And we'll allow them, in the name of 'convenience', to take control of the writing and music and film we naively thought we owned, and they won't have to break down the doors of our houses to get it. [Mad] [Mad]
