[Votive] for Malik

[Votive] praying for all, by name.

I am on the Maintenance Meds from Hell; I have neuropathy in my hands and feet, and all my joints are terribly stiff and painful. (I was just kneeling down to look into a cabinet - and had to ask my daughter to come and help me up.) I have to take said meds to prevent a recurrence of the cancer, but it's discouraging.

The docs keep trying to find other meds to help balance the imperative ones, but nothing has worked so far. Prayers to help them find the right mix (preferably without making me sleep 20 hours a day) would be much appreciated.

Ross, likewise with the neuropathy thing etc here too (herceptin - hates me, grr). Much prayer that they find something better for both of us and anyone else who ends up wondering what the heck to do now.

Here, if people can please spare a prayer for hubby, P, who's having his second eye operation under general anaesthetic today. He reacts so badly to GA and I just want him to be ok...

Much prayer for everyone else too [Votive]

I would appreciate prayers for discernment and wisdom. At our church (as at many others I suspect), just a few people do a lot of different tasks and now one of the few is recovering from a stroke. I have been considering getting more involved but am wary of offering to do something and then not having the time or energy to follow through...
Some clear, unambiguous guidance would be nice.

Turns out with regards to my grandmother, 'high blood pressure' actually means 'pneumonia'. I am about ready to walk down there and start smacking people.

For those praying for M

M had serious pneumonia in December and his foster parents weren't sure that he would see Christmas, but he survived. He is now back in rehab.

His review assessing progress is to be January 24th.

Thank you for your prayers, but please keep them coming.

Our son-in-law Billy is now in ICU, in critical condition...there's been no definite diagnosis, and we may not get that until Monday, but the indicators suggest a couple of equally scary, extremely serious diseases. Our son Brian has gotten almost no sleep in the last week and has been staying at the hospital 24/7; he tries to put up a brave front for us over the phone, but it doesn't always work.

Meanwhile our other son Rob will be undergoing surgery for his compound leg fractures this coming Monday. He is far more upset about Billy than about his own medical issues, but he's also very worried about finances, and is feeling helpless and defeated.

Finally, in our family medical rockslide, please pray for my partner, Ellen, who has COPD and has been battling with a bad case of bronchitis since Christmas...she was prescribed some steroid therapy and a new breathing treatment and is recovering quickly, but she has some pulmonary tests and scans coming up that we always find anxiety-provoking.

Thanks again, Shipmates, for your support. Our sons have, uncharacteristically, asked for prayers, which indicates how scared and stressed they are right now.

Hey folks,

I'm requesting prayers for my pal Polly, who has a tumor on her esophagus and is going through treatment (chemo and radiation).

I'm still concerned about my own weird semi-random shortness of breath, especially since Polly and I were presenting with a number of very similar symptoms and had similar diagnostic tests done. I don't think it's esophagus for me, but it's time (now that my cold is mostly done) to call my doc and ask about where to go from here, test-wise.

I managed to hold it together at church when people were cornering me and trying to get info about her. Between her and Jen, I really don't want to be Helpful Info Source right now; I've got my own processing to do.

Praying for all.

Having a hard time being shunned by beloved friend who wouldn't return my texts/emails. that friend sent me and the Magician presents through the mail for Xmas - there is only 4 miles distance between us. Then beloved friend sent me an e-mail cc:ing somebody else from highschool to this friend get in touch with somebody that person is looking for. I just wrote back I would do that and did e-mails to introduce.

I realize though as the pain still grows, sometimes God has us apart to grow. This may be one of those times. I have known said friends for over 30 years. It hurts a lot as that person has been there for me and viscera and really means a lot to me. But I honestly feel like there is less stress in my life as I seem to not make them happy.

Thank you all for your prayers. The little boy, M, got through his surgery and is now recovering. My friend, H., made it through his exceptionally long surgery yesterday and now is beginning his recovery also, which I suspect will be quite a process. I continue to pray for him and his family especially. [Votive]

I also had my appointment at the teaching hospital. I give thanks for the very kind specialist I met. It was also difficult because my problem remains a mystery. I need another complicated breathing test, and there are no available appointments until mid-February. Then I will see the doctors again in March. It can be hard to wait. sigh. [Votive]

We are just getting our latest update from Brian and Billy's friend/coworker...it sounds like Billy has developed sepsis overnight, which they're going to be treating aggressively even though he's in a very fragile state. This is going to be a very stressful day for us all; we're not going to be calling Brian for the rest of the day, because we're sure he's going to be in with Billy and won't need the interruption. Thank you all for your continued prayers. We're so worried not just for Billy but for Brian, who tends to be very strong and stoic, but who sounded so weary this morning, and started sobbing over the phone. Billy's mom had a rough day yesterday too.

Praying for all others who are struggling with critical illness.

Praying my way through the thread [Votive]

If anyone can spare a prayer for us, I would be thankful...

Mother in law has recently come out of hospital after an illness but is now unwell again and really needs to see the GP but doesn't want to.....

My mother's COPD is continuing to deteriorate majorly and now she barely speaks at all, as well as showing signs of circulation problems.

My dear father-out-law has been admitted to hospital for testing with what look like a rapid series of mini-strokes/impaired blood flow to the brain, so we are all anxious about him.

My youngest daughter has been unwell, and yesterday my third daughter was physically assaulted at school, in front of many witnesses. The perpetrator has been temporarily suspended for doing this, but my daughter is still pretty shaken up as well as feeling a bit bruised and battered.

And it's only the first week of January....not a wonderful start to the New Year [Roll Eyes]

I could really use some resolution to - or at the very least solid information about - the situation that's been making my life hell for going on a year now.

And hope. I still need hope, mostly that humanity isn't as horrible as it seems these days.

Having narrowly escaped losing my own dad (twice!) over Christmas, I learnt today that a friend's dad died suddenly, and out of area: there may or may not be a funeral on Friday. There are enough winter deaths locally to make the registration of the death problematic.

So please pray for S's dad's family: wife, siblings, children and grandkids.

Prayers for Billy, as he starts dialysis today, and for Rob as his leg surgery commences at 4 pm this afternoon.
