I cannot talk about this quite yet, but I want to ask for prayer this evening, about 5:30-6:30 CST (11:30PM GMT). I am meeting with some people about something important. My prayer is that they will listen to me before making their decision. What happens after that is in God's hands and I have complete and utter peace about that. Just pray that they will hear me.

For Earwig's K & J on the loss of their child

For Padre Joshua - may his meeting go well today

for those who are hungry, homeless, inadequately shelteres, sick, facing life-threatening situations

for Golden Key to be in good form for appointment today

for Golden Key's friend considering marriage, and for all in, or missing, or seeking relationships

for wisdom for me as i work with the medical professionals in dealing with these feisty tidbits of cancer.
(and giving thanks that being proactive is energizing and for good pieces of news.
May i be able to get the least toxic. (It depends on exactly what mutation of melanoma i have. My prayer is that I have the right mutation. My I have the same spirit of acceptance that Padre Joshua has.

That my long-striving cousin C's strivings to be successful as an artist succeed.

Billy is still in an induced coma for his own comfort and safety, but his bloodwork numbers seem to be moving in a good direction.

His friends had a "pray-in" for him last night at 9 pm EST, and they've decided that they're going to keep that up in their own ways every day until he's out of the hospital.

Thanks again, pray-ers here. We've told Brian that there are people literally around the globe praying for them right now.

At work, we all have these A4 x 3" deep plastic boxes. They are explicitly for storing stuff in the evening that you want to hold over to work on the next day (rather than stick it back in the general filing system). Today, two people, separately, came across from another team, very insistent that I had file *X*. "No", I said, "I've not had any File Xs this week". Turns out, my Team Leader had, indeed, put File X in my plastic box last night without even having the courtesy to mention it. They are Storage Space, not a fucking medium of communication, you passive-aggressive bitch.

May I kill her?

(More in keeping with AS, it seems to be turning into a war of attrition here - keeping careful note of everything this dim tart does but it's bloody tiresome.)

Please pray for our friend J, who has been off work for a couple of months with depression which also stops him sleeping. He's had new medication, and he's hoping to make it to church on Sunday but has asked for prayer.

Next to such serious health concerns, it seems nothing, but i have had one cold and infection after another continuously for over six months. It is really getting to me, and is a worry as well.

I am holding you all in prayer. May God meet us each as we need this night.

[Votive] I'd like to ask for prayers for my friend and one-time radio co-host D, who had severe chest pains which he said were not serious, only gas pockets, which he's had in the past. But after repeated urgings and 2 days of pain, including having to sit up all night unable to lie down, he finally went to the VA hospital today. He had inflammation of the lining around his heart/lung area and tachycardia. He was given antibiotics and told he should be OK in a week or so, but will be monitored for 30 days. It sounded scarey to me.

Keeping loads of prayer going as I read through this. Especially for those treading the paths of cancer treatment and aftereffects. Here, prayers of thanks that hubby's eye operation does look to have been a success again, and more thanks that today's heart scans have shown that the herceptin isn't causing heart failure. Hurrah.

[Votive] Since what i have inside me is fast-growing, yet at the same time since i need to have time to find out if i have the type of melanoma for which another less liver-toxic drug works I am praying that all these ducks can get put in a row in a timely manner. I just got off the phone with my brother in North Carolina -- I'm trying to swing taking a quick flight there for a 2nd opinion at nearby Duke Univ. med ctr. Also that i can sort out all the other stuff (dealing with insurance among other stuff) that needs to be done at this time.

[Votive] Malik, still praying. (Pssst: Your PM box is full!)

And [Votive] for all those mentioned here.

I ask your prayers for my golden retriever Abby. We took her to a specialist Tuesday to see if she's limping because of arthritis (she's 11) or a fracture. Turns out it could be bone cancer. We'll just have to wait and see, but meanwhile, we could all use prayers.

Keeping folks in my prayers, especially Malik. [Votive]

Thank you for your prayers on behalf of our kids.

Today Billy is being weaned off the medicine they've been using to keep him immobile, and also being weaned off his ventilator. His last lung x-ray seemed a bit clearer, and except for jaundice his bloodwork seems to be improving incrementally. Last night he was able to respond to Brian by trying to turn his head. Team Billy, Brian and Billy's friends and work colleagues, have been busy praying and fundraising for medical expenses, bringing homecooked food around to the hospital for Brian and his MiL (who've basically been living there) and allowing them some respite hours. I'm truly moved by Team Billy's compassion, generosity and organizational prowess.

Meanwhile son Rob seems to be able to move around a bit more with his cast (something his doctors want him to do), needs fewer pain meds and also seems a bit more cheerful. So the stress in this household is becoming less about the medical issue and more concentrated on regaining their financial footing.

Again, thanks to all; and prayers for all.

For the pastor at our church, Brian, who at the tender age of 43 is having problems with high blood pressure.
For my nephew, Tim, who lost his grandmother yesterday. May her memory be eternal. [Votive]
For a fellow volunteer, Jeff, who is rapidly losing his eyesight to macular degeneration. He is only 44.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayers. [Votive]
