Please pray for A and H and their wee family. They have a 3 week old baby, and A has had serious health problems. She has had an appointment with a specialist, and speaks about it all with typical sang-froid. Please pray for a return to full health.

Someone trying to jerk me around on urgent matters of scheduling. Need help to handle this with grace and diplomacy and without sacrificing nor drawing negative attention to myself.
For the Telemum.
For me to do a great job tomorrow, and to tame the finance-monster. [ 02. August 2012, 23:09: Message edited by: Telepath ]

I know who I need to talk to, I'm just not sure how that's going to happen.
I think I may know who I want to talk to, but I'm not sure how that would go over.
Once again, I could use some guidance in terms of what to do now...

Had some problems with my ankles for a few months, went to the doctor who sent me for blood tests. The results say it's rheumatoid arthritis. My mother and grandmother both have/had it but it didn't show up for them until they were well past 70 and I'm only 55. It's a bummer.
Please pray for me to come to terms with it. Trying to contemplate starting re-thinking plans for now and the future. One of the problems is, I've always been the healthy one in the family. I'm not sure how other family members who have multiple health problems themselves are going to respond to my having a chronic condition.

Middle child "Son of God" has severe chronic sinus and bronchial stuff always on the horizon. He shouldn't take many medicines to help with his allergies due to a scary racing heart/irregular beat thing that also hangs on his horizon.
It sounds like both are whipping him today. And he's far away from his little family, at work. In Trinidad. His wife has so many health concerns of her own, and the kids to care for. And who knows if he can even come home right now, I dunno how his work and flight possibilities have been affected by the tropical storm.
I try not to worry -- I mostly stay calm, although it gets difficult to focus on doing anything productive. The Football God, however, is another story. He's vibrating with anxiety. He can't hold still.
Prayers would be a good thing.

I've come to my mum for the weekend. This was doing me good - her quiet support is always healing - until this afternoon when my sister came round. The reason for this little family get together is that yesterday was my birthday, yet she she spent the entire time ignoring me. Since I last rang her I've been in a play, chatted to royalty and been in the Olympics; since I last saw her I've lost a stone and a half, and now wear 32 jeans. So there were lots of positive thing she could have spoken to her depressed brother about. Instead she ignored me, and I feel like shot all over again. Bloody families.

I'd be very grateful for prayers for my friend H, who has made the difficult decision to resign from her position at a toxic workplace without another job in place.
Robert Armin. I'm reminded of a scrap of a poem I read years ago, something along the lines of "I liked you better dumber/I liked you better smaller". How sad that your sister is so insecure that she feels diminished by your successes. [ 04. August 2012, 21:06: Message edited by: Meg the Red ]

Robert, dude, you sound like my twin! Got roundly ignored by a certain extremely close relative this weekend, causing no end of pain... still praying for you!
On the brighter side, we had our meeting with the senior pastor and though I really can't figure out exactly what was going on in that meeting (the whizzing sound is Mr. Lamb and him communicating while the words fly in one of my ears and out the other), still, I think the final result was good. We'll know for sure if he deals properly with the painful and divisive situation in the church. In the meantime, I am taking Not-so-Little-Lamb to a different church tomorrow so he doesn't have to face the woman who nearly killed us years ago. I'll be rather pleased to avoid her myself.

So many of you have expressed support for me that I'm going to post something rather trivial and silly. I've had a very bad week, and yesterday was the worst day. Anyway I had a beautiful dream last night, which was very healing, and today I'm feeling a lot more positive. It blended Biblical, Shakespearian and fertility imagery in a way that meant a lot to me. Without boring you with all the details I was left feeling that I am currently in a place of crucifixion, but that Puck will come and bring spring again. Thank you to everyone who has been praying - please go on, but this is a silly little bit of flimsiness that gives me hope.

I too had a beautiful dream last night, and feel heartened and encouraged by it. And also like picking up a Charles Williams novel -- it was that kind of dream. I am glad to hear about yours, Robert.

Those dreams are lovely to have. please don't worry about our physical safety--the time for that was six years ago. I really don't think she's going to get physical again, it's just that the sight of her smirking face in worship service is giving my son flashbacks. And various other forms of terror. I'm none so keen on seeing her myself. And justified though it is, "Fuck off" is not encouraged at the Peace. But it may get added to the liturgy soon if I stay.

As of this writing, we are both unemployed: my wife, with her newly minted MA, has still not signed a teaching contract and my school is not open for the term yet.
Theatres are dark and nothing is going on at other venues.
2012 has been a challenging year, but I am still optimistic that I'll get some prayers answered in the affirmative! At least attending daily mass keeps me focused and my spirits up!
All prayers are appreciated. I have prayed for Shipmates also.
