Just sent off an email that could be critical with regards to what i think God may want me doing career and mission-wise--a huge amount is going to depend on the decision I get back. I really feel pulled to this, please God, let it happen . . . Scared because it's forcing me to show my true colors to my employer, and i don't know how they'll react. You folks know me better than they do!

I ask you prayers for extended family member James. He is in his 30's and seeking remission of his stage 3 cancer. It has been a long battle over the past 6 years. He and his young wife are such an inspiration to all of us who know and love him. Lord, let him beat this thing.

For each pray-er by name and each pray-er's need
That Nightowl can stop having to visit the ER (after the last few weeks i know what a real drag repeated medical trips is) and that the upcoming test results are good
For Graven Image's James and James' wife. May there be a happy end to his long struggle with this cancer.
For a member of my parish whom i do not personally know who, like me, has metastatic melanoma but who is not the best state, unlike me who have been so incredibly blessed with continued good health. May there be a cure for metastatic melanoma. Or at least the discovery of a way of successful lifetime management (such as with AIDS, as in the case of Magic Johnson, where a diagnosis is no longer an almost certain death sentence).
For this stressed and weary world -- for more understanding of each others' cultures, for freedom of religious expression for all -- and an understanding that true religious freedom for some can't rightly be based on the oppression of others. For justice and truth to prevail, everywhere and particularly in the country in which i happen to reside.
For an end to the horrible slaughter of elephants by ivory poachers in Africa which has reached new heights of frenzy. God please protect these intelligent feeling fellow creatures and somehow touch the perpetrators of this incredibly sad horror.
For my cousin C's father N who is now in hospice care, yet (realistically or not) hopes to get out and return home. For some kind of healing and reconciliation in that troubled family.
For good news when i get the scan results Tuesday
In thanks for the members of this board where we may bring the prayers of our heart. What a blessing that this place is here! ![[Axe murder]](graemlins/lovedrops.gif)

For North Africa and the Middle East.
For Amazing Grace's vestry members, for discernment.
For Graven Image's James, for healing.
For Mrs S.
For Sir Kevin's daughter.
For Lamb Chopped to succeed in her mission.
For Tunisia, and for the safety of Lucia's friend.
For malik3000, for the healing of the parish member from melanoma. For a cure for AIDS. For an end to ivory poaching and for the welfare of Your magnificent creatures the elephants, and for those driven to do these things out of the necessity of making a living. For his cousin C. And for the welfare of N.
And most of all - for a great triumph for malik3000 on Tuesday, Scan Day!
For Niteowl, for healing.
For Loquacious Beachcomber's nephew N.
For Nanny Ogg, for comfort for Mr Creature and those affected by the accident.
For Welease Woderwick's M, for healing.
For the Telemum.
For me to do all I need to do tomorrow and to do it with joy. For the finance-monster to stay way over there.
For K.

Remember friend P., whose armed neighbor appears to be a psychotic with anger issues and no concept of community living?
Something may change now. The man confessed to shooting out P.'s dining room window, and to putting a bullet through the door of her husband's new car. Not to any of the dozens of other boneheaded wrong stunts he's pulled, but at least to those two.
The only difference between this outcome and all the many other horrible things he's done is simply that the police got involved. (P. reflexively called 911 after the window incident. They had previously been avoiding making police complaints, trying to placate the man.)
So now, the guy might get some help. I hope. Or at least have just a little accountability fall on his pointy head.
Can't be a bad thing. Might help. Praise God.

Great news today that our son has got a place to transfer to the school we wanted him in. Shock at finding he has to start tomorrow so running around trying to organise everything for him leaving one school and starting the next one tomorrow. Please pray for him in the transition. He is happy about it though. To add to the madness this week my surgery has been scheduled for Wednesday! I didn't expect it that soon! Prayers appreciated I feel very anxious about having surgery.

For all in danger of flooding near the Sisitna River valley.
For Kirstin, for healing.
For healing for Niteowl.
For Golden Key to find the MRI strangely enjoyable, and for everything to be OK.
For Scooby-Doo to... I'm guessing this is the kind of examination you wouldn't want to find strangely enjoyable. So I'll just pray that it's nowhere near as unpleasant as anticipated.
For Mr Creature and his wife, Lord have mercy. For the police to catch those involved and for justice to be done.
For peace for Mum Bee, and only the best for Dad Bee.
For Lucia Jr to have a great time at the new school. For the surgery to be a complete breeze and heal everything with no mess and no fuss.
I have not done a good day's work today, and am weighed down by feeling bitter, twisted, and ungrateful. Rarely does anyone get to triumph over their enemies in quite the way I've done (wouldn't mind triumphing a bit more though ;-)) and you'd think I'd be having fun with it, but no, not me. Had to be an emo teen right into my forties didn't I?
For the Telemum. For Aunties Telemum and Telenurse.
For my heart's desire.

Please hold my dear colleague Y and his wife and especially their tiny son N in your prayers. N was admitted to hospital overnight last night and is not at all well. He's only 3 weeks old and is their first child so it's particularly hard for them to see him all wires and tubes.
Also, can you spare a prayer for me as I finally come to terms with the job I love no longer being the job I love. Job hunting is especially difficult when the job you really want is the one you currently have but with circumstances how they used to be.

Right now I'm sitting in the examination room waiting for my oncologist, in my little open-in-the-back gown (and i do mean little). The nurse already gave me the most important news, which is good, praise God! My brain and my liver are still clear of anything malign. Praise God!! They did find a bit of a spread of the malignancy in the lung area, and are thinking about radiation for that. My oncologist will give me details on that when he comes in, but it may be the kind of radiation with minimal side effects. ![[Votive]](graemlins/votive.gif)
