I've been feeling very disconnected lately from God, prayers for wisdom would be gratefully received.

something has been said that hurt. a lot. I'm pretty good at not letting other people's word get to me, but I have weak spots. this one was in relation to whether I'm fit to raise my kids.

it hurt. a lot.

I could use some holding up.

Could I please ask prayers for two young people and their little daughter? The two people concerned do not live together and manage to have blazing rows and a very unkind sort of relationship, which is affecting the whole extended family, not to say their little daughter.

I know I don't appear in this thread, only to ask for prayers, but we are all worried.

Sorry - me again. I really could do with prayers for my intercessions tomorrow...it's been such a hideous couple of weeks here that I really have no words - just a tremendous feeling of God's presence...and writing them is proving almost impossible. [Frown]

May God pour out his blessings upon all those mentioned here and shelter them from all harm.

Please give thanks to God for my brother, who came through a very serious automobile accident unharmed.

My friend R. is in need of your prayers again. His driver's license was revoked on what appears to be merely a clerical error, but the motor vehicle bureau is giving him a hard time about getting it reinstated. Meanwhile, he lives in a remote area and is running out of groceries. He has no chance of anyone helping him until next Tuesday at the earliest. He assures me he has enough food in the house to last until then, but I am worried sick. Please pray that help may arrive and that the motor vehicle bureau will see the light at last.

[Votive] For all, especially Malik 3000 for health and God's peace.

My problem isn't that serious but I am planning to change churches this year after 6 years for various reasons and am finding even just sticking to the decision really tough and stressful.

I'm in my early thirties, but single with no kids so I'm kind of scared I won't find a church locally where I will fit in. In my experience evening services cater for youth (and sometimes their parents) and twenty somethings, and morning services cater for young families and the elderly. My church is like this and I feel I don't fit there anymore. Also I have a group of friends there who I see regularly, but lately feel like I have less and less in common with many of them and that they have become unwelcoming to new people in the church. So I will chat to new people but if I invite them out with my friends they are not always happy about it.

Now they are starting to leave me out of things too which is really hurtful but really hard for me to discuss with them and also explain I am not leaving the church because of them. I get explanations like I don't have an i-phone or they just organised something last minute so couldn't be bothered contacting everyone. They used to be really inclusive and welcoming to everyone so I don't understand what has happened. I want to stay friends but refuse to be cliquey or base my friendships on what possessions we share.

My volunteer work with a Christian organisation is something I really enjoy, and wonder if this year I should just stick with that and not worry too much about church. I have made friends there but most live quite far from me so I only catch up with them socially now and then and am not really close with them as I previously was with my church friends.

Especially for R (mentioned above) with the bureaucratic problem and fallout. Have been in such messes, myself.

For a friend who's engaged: for that all to work out well for both parties, and for our friendship not to be swept aside. (Friends sometimes drop friends when making a major life change, like marriage.)

For my health flare-ups to settle down.

Thanks!

Continued prayers for our children and child-in-law...

Billy is doing very well -- we were actually able to speak with him on the phone for a minute or so yesterday -- but he is still very weak, and he's now alert enough mentally to be distressed by his condition and frustrated with the necessary indignities involving his care. Brian is being very patient and kind -- occasionally being firm when Billy wants to, say, get up and go home -- but when he talks to us you can tell how stressed and vulnerable he is.

Meanwhile Son #2 Rob has been having a few rough days; his leg is hurting mightily, he needs a cast re-fitting and he's feeling very helpless/useless sitting at home and creating stress/anxiety for his family. He's also worried about finances, as his bills start coming in and he has to wait to send them on to the health insurance company.

DP gives both of them stay-strong pep talks and motherly advice every day...but as she said to me this morning, "Why is it that every time I get off the phone I just want to cry?" Ditto; it's hard to hear the boys upset over the phone.

Thanks all for your prayers. Last night they had an in-room pray-in for Billy, and he told his friends and family, "I know I shouldn't be alive," and expressed his gratitude to everyone (which would include all of you!) keeping him in their prayers.

Prayers for all today, for God's prsence and peace. [Votive] [Votive] [Votive]

Please pray for my sister in law, her ex-husband and their 5 year old daughter. Daughter went this afternoon to see her Dad as normal for 2hrs on Sunday afternoon, he handed sister in law a letter which she has found says that of today he is taking custody of her. She has called police and social services who are saying they cannot intervene as there is no legal custody order. They agreed access arrangements at the time of the divorce.

He has Narcissistic personality disorder and a gambling addiction. His daughter has a number of medical issues which I doubt he is able to cope with properly.

Sister in law is taking some people to his home to try and reason with her. Please pray for them all and especially for protection. I don't trust him at all.

Please pray for KC. she got her stuff out of my condo yesterday which had been there 1 year. I had not seen here since Jan. 8, 2011. So seeing her was a bit of a shock as she is more deep it seems into the addiction. As much as I am trying not to take it on, it hurts to see her like that.I wanted to see a healthy KC, not one all drunk and maybe on something else. I worry about her, I've already lost more than 1 friend to addictions that are in heaven. Don't want to lose another one. She's going to Canada then moving to Hawaii. I will ask you to say a pray for her and I now will try to let it go. thanks.

Praying for each by name. So much hurt. So many worries. Kyrie eleison!

*********************************

I will be starting treatment in the next few days with a drug called Yervoy. My prayer is -- first, of course -- that it will stifle or eliminate the melanoma, and that it will do so without doing a number on my liver. Secondly that it doesn't have grotty side effects. I give a prayer of thanks that my trip to the U of North Carolina med center for a second opinion decreased my worries particularly about the liver. But of course we dont know for sure about what's going to happen until it does. May i maintain a positive attitude and trust in God's love. May i be open to God filling me and may i "graciously accept God's healing." May my medical caregivers have discernment. May my goals and in particular my participation in the previously-mentioned leadership seminar at my church not be inhibited.

Could i get a prayer for my brother in North Carolina and family. While in NC he told me that he has been laid off from his job of 36 years (since he got out of grad school!). He was the dirctor of one of the research units and seemingly although he works in a research institute the new management (none of whom has a scientific background) isn't much into actual research. He gets paid and stays on the health plan throughout 2012, so no immediate financial worries, but it was quite a shocker, and he loved his work and had no plans to quit yet.

please pray for my dear friend M, an amazing, high-energy woman who makes her living as a musician (yes! actually makes a living!). she has found a large and painful lump in her breast. As you can imagine, she has no health insurance and is very scared, both of the danger of cancer and of the bills that will come along with them. she's only 36.

[Votive] Praying through the thread. Lord, have mercy.

Do not be daunted by the enormity of the world’s grief. Do justly, now. Love mercy, now. Walk humbly, now. You are not obligated to complete the work, but neither are you free to abandon it.

Sorry to ask for so much recently. After months of back and forth I am realizing that my relationship is well and truly over. May I be grateful (eventually) for the gift of V. in my life and may I patiently wait for God to show me my new path.

[Votive] For all here.
