My mum has had another fall and is in hospital - they are making big efforts to improve the quality of care, but it's still pretty much the last place where she'd want to be. Especially as they only allow evening visiting, which seems ridiculous. I'm over 100 miles away and my sister is having a very hard time of it.

Prayers for all [Votive]

I have mentioned Jim several times. Here is the latest report from his partner's mother:
quote:
Jim's condition is not good. Don't know if you knew that they discovered that the reason the strep was so difficult for him was that he also had some West Nile. Add to that his developing of shingles in the last few weeks and now pneumonia and he is struggling. So please keep him in your prayers. Thank you.
I can say no more than that. Thank you for any and all prayers.

The appointment was encouraging in that they are taking it seriously, doing tests, listening, etc. It was discouraging in that it will be at least another 4 weeks before I can get much relief unless it goes as mysteriously as it appeared.
Next up, MRI.... We'll see.

Would apciate some prayers please - I've had an unpleasant cold all week ane had to ring in sick today - it's really debilitating, I've spent all day curled up with a blanket over me.
Please continue to pray for Safadin, the smidgeon puss - he's still not well, and we're waiting for the results of blood and faeces samples. He's eating, but still very very thin and he also has a gunky eye.

Please pray for my sister, M. She's had some apparently neurological issues developing for a while now, and had a hospital appt yesterday to start investigating. There's an MRI scan to happen, and more tests, but the mention of it possibly being MS or similar has thrown me. Pray that whatever it is is diagnosed soon, so that she can get started on treatment/management... Pray too that she makes wise decisions about matters that are within her control. [Frown]

Thanks to all who have been praying for my mum and her operation - it's been pushed back (it being non-emergency) which is why I haven't had an update!

I started university on the 16th and have just this week been having lectures, but also have been struck down by 'freshers flu'! So prayers for energy and good health would be very welcome [Smile] Not found a church yet, still looking (considering Holy Trinity or Holy Sepulchre - I am in Northampton) but have made a few good Christian friends and my uni chaplain is lovely and encouraging, as is my uni mental health team (I have long term depression-anxiety) so lots of praise for that.

A sadder prayer request now. My best friend (also a Christian) got married last November to a lovely Christian man, but recently has been realise that she does not love him romantically, but married him because he was a lovely Christian man who showed her affection and attention. She left school at 14 because of illness and was cared for at home by her mum (she is 23 now) and so her social circle was very limited and her now husband was her first ever boyfriend. She'd been with him for about 18 months when they married. She now wants a divorce but does not want to for fear of being a failure. They cannot afford counselling and her husband won't ask his parents for financial help for this (her family could not help them financially anyway). If anyone here has experience in these matters and being a Christian, she would very much appreciate it if I could be PM'd contact details to pass onto her. Prayers for the situation are obviously needed too though (she is Faith, her husband is Michael).

Sorry for not clarifying - my friend is not part of a church because she lives in a very rural area and is disabled, and so cannot physically get to church. She is on disability benefits and her husband is a postgraduate student so money is extremely tight.
